Look what happens when you leave a tablet out in the heat. That pouch was the battery. It's very fortunate that it didn't completely explode and spray everywhere.

Cell Phone Tip
Especially for those with new cell phones this time of year, it is very important to get your battery into shape from the beginning. Â Following a few simple tips can help keep your battery in good shape and holding charge for a long time (or at least the length of your contract).Â
Keep the battery power level between 80% and 20% as much as possible. Â This keeps the battery always working and not stressing out too much.
Don't leave your phone plugged in too much. Â Overnight while you sleep isn't a huge deal. Â But all day in your car while you commute or at the office can be bad. Â The longer your phone is plugged in, the more likely that your battery will not hold a charge as well over time. Â The battery needs to work to be fully functional and feeding it constant power just makes it fat and lazy.
Don't let your phone die. Â Running the battery down below 20% consistently is just as bad as always leaving it plugged in all the time.
Let your battery do some work before you charge it. Â Try to make your battery dip significantly down from 100% before charging (like into the 30% range). Â This will help the battery have more consistent power usage throughout its life cycle. For example, always plugging your phone in when it is at 70% will eventually affect the performance of the battery at 50% and below.
Of course no one is perfect and you won't be able to follow these guidelines at all times. Â Just do the best you can and your battery will appreciate it!
