Scenario 1: Kazuha holds the Kagotsurube Isshin in one hand. He looks at it with a lifted eyebrow and asks, “How do you expect me to hold you and a hammer at the same time?” The sword says, “I could—” before being interrupted by Kazuha, who says, “No, you’re not allowed to possess me.”

Scenario 2: Kazuha holds the Kagotsurube Isshin straight out in front of him. His eyes are tightly shut, and he’s leaning away from the sword, who shouts, “what the hell were you thinking?” The words “hell” and “thinking” are in all caps.

Scenario 3: Kazuha stands with a wide stance and frustrated expression. He appears to be attempting to move in one direction while the Kagotsurube Isshin is pulling one of his arms in the other direction. “Oi, get back here!!” says Kazuha. The sword responds, in all caps, “No!! That thing’s going to damage my beautiful blade”. There are tears in its eye.

Scenario 4: Kazuha runs a cloth over the Kagotsurube Isshin‘s blade, who is humming and has its eye happily closed.

Scenario 5: Kazuha holds the sword in front of him with both hands. The two of them are overshadowed by something in front of them, and they stare with wide eyes. “run?” asks the sword. “run,” responds Kazuha. End image ID]

"Hmm," the detective cocks his head to the side, viewing the way the drops of water roll down the leaves sheltering them from rain, "Probably?"

The samurai looks amused, "Probably?"

"Depends on why it’s important for you to be a good person I guess," Heizou tilts his head to the side, "For example, if you think being someone lovable makes you a good person then yes, you fit that criteria, but I believe even the worst person will have at least one being that loves them so…" he makes shrugging gesture, removing one hand from his hips, palm open to catch the stray drops that land in them before it goes back.

"…I suppose I will find that belief hard to disagree with, since I don’t have clear evidence against it," Kazuha unfolds his legs from on top of the raised roots of the tree, his sandals pushing the wet grass down as he stands up and walks over to where the other man is, "Then, are there things you dislike about me?"

"Having an interesting line of questioning today aren’t we?" Heizou folds his arms, locking eyes as he turns his head.

"…Perhaps I’m curious on how you view me," a bandaged hand traces over the katana on his hip, "Maybe having feelings for you, reverts me back to those younger days of constantly fretting over what others think of me…"

A surprised laugh, "That’s kind of a terrible thing to reminisce over! And you’re not that old, despite all that white hair- hey, don’t send that wind my way," he immediately points accusatory, "Don’t think I’m not seeing what you’re doing with your hand there."

Kazuha looks at him innocently as the small gathering of anemo dissipates from his palm.

"Back to your question though…well. I don’t like violence, but almost all the people I care about, including you, have a knack for it. Myself included in there I suppose."

"Hmm… you are the least inclined for it that I know of, however," the poet nods his head towards him.

"I guess so…it’s just difficult for me to understand those who are eager for a fight, but that doesn’t mean I care for you any less. I guess another thing I dislike…well. I guess this is more being envious than dislike. I envy how certain things come easily for you to say, and I end up frustrated with myself."’

"I dislike how I keep finding things I’m inadequate about, and some days…I end up feeling like it gets especially worse when compared to others. Ha ha…not sure if I explained this right. But it’s not personal to you, and more my own issue in the end."

"Hm…" Kazuha lowers his eyelids, "I didn’t know you had worries like this."

"I have a lot of worries Kazuha," Heizou says idly, "I’m sure your senses catch at least half of them."

"Hmm…thank you for answering my question."

And by desperately I mean familiars of different sorts keep coming up to try and make a pact with him, has to actively deny any witch services to the yokai that come after him because he’s a Shikanoin that’s not part of the herd, instantly has to chuck invitations towards witch circles into the fire because he can recognize a teleportation enchantment on at least half of them that would activate upon being opened.

Additionally he has to deal with the Shikanoin ancestors familiar(a deer) following him around and leaving him cryptic messages, because for some reason, out of everyone in his family, the deer has taken a liking to the oddball witch Heizou.

“You remind me of your ancestor, who was my master. One day, I believe you will become something grand, no matter what path you take, and when that time comes I wish to give you my service.”

Of course he knows a decent amount of spells, and will reluctantly rely on his heritage whenever cases take a supernatural turn. At the very least though, he’s managed to keep this a secret from almost everyone in his life.

Except Kazuha, who shows curiosity and appreciation towards this side of Heizou.

Like how certain flowers start to bloom when he tells the detective his heartfelt haikus, how the red of Heizou’s hair will glow when casting certain spells… and more importantly, when by nature, Heizou will accidentally show his own possessiveness towards Kazuha in his magic.

"A witch in love is dangerous, for their magic would respond to such an uncontrollable emotion, regardless of their intentions."

By possessiveness, I mean when someone intends to attack Kazuha, their intentions backlashing towards themselves(receiving the injury they intended to give). Crows starting to gather and caw angrily when someone gets close to Kazuha a bit too chummily. Other witches pausing, noticing that Kazuha has the mark of a witch that has been left unintentionally, and leaving the area because they don’t want to mess with that no matter how charming the samurai is.

Of course, Heizou has no control over this. He actually instantly tries to remove whatever spells he’s accidentally casted on Kazuha, will grab hold of cawing crows and fling them away because Heizou shouldn’t have a say in who Kazuha talks to, and has tried to remove the mark he left without realizing it, because Kazuha shouldn;t be anyone’s property.

Kazuha though, just finds these charming despite Heizou’s fretting. He will gently pat the crows or whatever protective animal that comes by in appreciation, and will stop Heizou from attempting to remove his witch mark on him.

"Perhaps I like the idea of being yours exclusively."

He would walk into the Tenryou office, kiss Heizou right in front of everyone, throw him over his shoulder like rice sack and just walk off like a serene caveman while Heizou is too embarrassed and shocked to do anything about it.
