Roaring On (Finale): I feel like this is such a good conclusion to the story. when the music starts up you get such a feeling of Doom and Despair like woah. they didn't gaf about gatsby. nostalgia is a lie. where's the party and can you take me there and when the party's over can you-

Beautiful Little Fool: Both this and ROR are such a good conclusion. the way this explores forcing obliviousness on yourself as a woman to protect yourself. The way that this comes after the fallout. it's such a redeeming song that explains so much and my heart BREAKS with how it's sung. nobody was there oh my god. nobody has been there for daisy but she loves her kid. there's no way she can leave. she has no choice. if only she waas dumb....

La Dee Dah With You: There's so much energy. but Gatsby what are you doing LMAO YOU ALMOST DIED IN THIS WAR. the way he uses this romanticism to try and pick up a girl. it's a shame she's not a beautiful little food. SUCH A BANGER. 1 2 3 4. 1 2 3 4. like . waow i can experience this so well. and also some good ol tap

New Money: The song that got me into this musical actually :3. idk just a really good banger. i love the part they're yelling over the party music and stuff. and the choreo is cool.

Second-Hand Suit: I love the switch between the music talking about george vs tom, and the way it slowly builds up.

One Way Road: I think this song explores Myrtle's character so well, and the amount of emotion present in it. Whilst being doomed. very cool.

For Her (Reprise): It's obvious i really like the second act songs. at least some of them. everything's connected. and it's so chaotic.

My Green Light: Aww this is so romantic!! let's hope nothing bad happens. I love the harmonies in this . myyy green lightttt. it really grew on me

Valley of Ashes: GOOD MORNIN DOCC HOWS THE VIEW FROM UP THEREEE

The MET: the gay photographer brought this up. what is everyone's deal in this number everyone is such a freak. it's so chaotic with so many moving parts i love it so much.

Only Tea: I can imagine a whole animatic with this it's so sillyyy... it's tea it's only tea IM GONNA WALK INTO THE OCEAN. gatsby being dramatic as shit. honestly this should be rated higher. but im not in the mood to move it and stuff.

Better Hold Tight: you can tell they're doomed from 15000 feet away BUT. The song is a banger. I love the imagery of the fancy dress making Jordan feel hopecore. until it's gone ("for better or worse reprise")

Absolute Rose: I love this as an intro. i do skip it sometimes but it indicates a lot about the characters and it's catchy!

For Better or Worse: It's a lot of buildup, but there's a good climax/crescendo! Good foreshadowing for how Daisy will treat gatsby, and also the women's roles at the time. good set up to one of my favorite numbers...

Shady: It's a solid number. I didn't really get wolfsheim's role in the story TOO much, but i saw this live and i liked the choreo a lot. at least he gets one number lol

Made To Last: A bit chaotic for me, but I think it's a good number. I just need to get more used to it. Very climax core.

Past Is Catching Up To Me: WE GET IT GATSBY. YOU LOVE DAISY. WE GETTTT IT. It sounds good but again WE GET IT

OKAY I KEEP FORGETTING SORRY SORRY. but in summary, He gets guilty. So does Mahiru. i can do with the verdicts whatever i want okay. And in this au, Mahiru is WAYYY WORSE. like a lot more codependent on es' approval (kinda like she was in canon). So having that affirmed, then rejected was a crazy move on their (the audience's) part. Shidou is honestly kind of happy to be rejected, but he loses his sense of purpose.

I was hinting at the two getting in a bit of a friendship together. like they both lost someone and fill the void with very questionable means, so i think they would get along. By them getting along i mean mahiru following shidou around and ignoring his protests.

So, at both getting a guilty verdict... mahiru does what she does best. This is a little crazy and may be ooc but. cw for suicide.
