On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson made history as the first Black MLB player, stepping onto the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. Despite going hitless, he scored the winning run. Robinson went on to achieve a .311 avg, 137 HRs, 734 RBIs, and 197 stolen bases. He helped the Dodgers win their first World Series in 1955, won Rookie of the Year (1947), MVP (1949), and was the first African American inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962.
