Studying Buddies ~ Heather & Brooke
brooke-youngblood:
Brookeâs dark eyes scanned the school library as she slowly winded down the isles of books. The library was used by a few very loyal students. Most of the students spent their time outside of school, Brooke was not one of them. Her notebooks felt heavy in her arms, but that didnât stop her gait, full of confidence and striding towards a corner table she always sat at. The notebooks hit the table with a loud thud as Brooke dropped her bag next to them. Stretching her arms upwards, she felt the muscles pull as they then relaxed just a fraction. It was enough to set her at ease, well maybe a cigarette would have helped more, but it was a habit that she only occasionally indulged in. Right now wasnât one of those times.
Pulling the chair back, she sat down. Pen in her hand, Brooke started to work. The coolness of the pen was a small reminder to keep her attention to her work. Along with the highlighters that she used to apply to the text, the colours screaming her name. Her eyes scanned the pages as she heard a chair being pulled back nearby. Her eyes lifted up for a second as she caught a glimpse of who it was. A smile slipped onto her lips as she turned the page, speaking up at the same time. âHey, nerd. Fancy seeing you here. What are you working on this time?â
heather spent her free period in the library everyday. well, if one of her various clubs werenât meeting at the moment. keeping up a perfect gpa was proving to be difficult as their senior year was reaching the midpoint, and she spent any extra time she had with her nose buried in a book. normally she would meet up with sam, and brooke to study - but the trio hadnât met up lately so heather assumed that she was on her own. so when she saw brooke nestled in a small table in the corner she was pleasantly surprised.Â
âwhat arenât i working on?â she questioned, a light giggle escaping her lips as she let her bag fall to the ground. she sat down next to the girl, and placed her chin on her fists, leaning over to peek at what brooke was writing. heather loved being around her fellow scholars. there was nothing more satisfying than being in the presence of someone that took their studies as seriously as she did.Â
