ネギマ！？

The summers here were considerably less hot than in Mekaku City, Ayano concludes.

It’s pleasant, the blossoms of spring blowing away in a warm breeze to give way to the heat of summer. The air hums with the voices of cicadas and the sky is spotless save for a bright disk shining light down upon the city. A soft wind dances by, tickling Ayano’s face. She inhales the summer air, smiling, and releases her breath with a content sigh. This is how summer should be.

It’s not so hot that she feels parched, but the forecast certainly did encourage a sip of lemonade just to fit the mood. So, the brunette meanders her way through the Cafe Walkway, indulging herself with window-shopping while looking for someplace to snack. Lemonade and cookies sounded really good right about now — or maybe an iced tea and scones. Either way, the feel-good beat of the summer called for some yummy snacks, in Ayano’s opinion!

Minutes float on by as she takes her sweet time, and finally, she finds a place. A humble little bakery, by the looks of it. Not bustling with activity, but not deserted, either. A couple of people sit outdoors underneath blue-and-yellow umbrellas, chatting idly with friends or reading a favorite book. Ayano takes a moment to smile at the scene — they all looked quite happy.

Upon deciding that this place seemed like a good rest stop, she lets herself in the bakery, the ringaling! of the overhead bell being the first thing to greet her. There’s a small line, but she doesn’t mind, and steps towards the person in front of her: a rather tall boy, probably so tall he could touch the ceiling with ease, with stark-white hair and alarmingly pink eyes. His entire appearance yelled “look at me!”, from the oddly dyed(?) hair to the neon-accented outfit. Yet his eyes were vacant and elsewhere, his posture neutral and at ease, and he didn’t say much of a word to draw attention to himself.

Tilting her head, Ayano can’t help but think this person is… familiar. She wasn’t entirely sure if they’d met before, or she had seen him somewhere, but at the same time— Surely, this boy was an encounter nobody could easily forget.

It was lunch time, and Konoha was almost dying of hunger. He didn't eat last night and went straight to sleep instead of eating at least something little or drinking something. Now we can conclude that he will eat a lot. He doesn't want to know if the food will be cold to refresh himself on the summer or if it will be too warm, he just wanted food!

Yeah, why worrying about the temperature of the food when he wasn't even caring about his outfit. Well, it's not like he isn't caring about this, but he doesn't understand what he should wear on this hot day. Normal thing for him, when this outfit is clean he is always wearing it, and Konoha is perfectly fine with it. Heat going through all his body and making him sweat a lot? No, it wasn't the case.

While waiting for his time to make the order, his gaze was attracted to a ice pop machine. Perfect, perfect. He would eat a lot and then buy ice pops for him, and he wasn't going to get only one. Who knows how many ice pops a Konoha can get in a restaurant.

The dreams about the ice pops were broken by someone calling him. He looked at his side and saw no one, then looked a bit down and saw a girl, looking at him.

Ah...and there it came a quest that Konoha couldn't answer in a way that it would leave the answer clear to the person. Something like, the other is totally sure they're familiar (or not totally) and Konoha would say 'Maybe...not....or yes....uh...' if the person seemed familiar to him, too. Sometimes he would forget the person and wouldn't think they are familiar when they meet again. Complicated.

"Konoha…" His mouth fell open in awe some and he sat his helmet on the moped before chaining it to the telephone pole and eying the boy curiously. "How did you make it here?" He asked now, red hues surveying the sleepy teen.

A boy that hadn’t been there before. A boy that was silent that she hadn’t heard coming. A boy that was just…. staring at her.

So, she did what came naturally: She screamed, a high-pitched scream that eventually died out when she realized he was just…. staring, and didn’t seem to have any intent. Nor was he a ghost, thank the Gods.

And now she felt quite silly, but despite that, Rise grinned sheepishly and waved at him. Her feet shuffled in place as she took in his appearance, brow creasing in worry and curiosity.

"H-hi! Uhm… You sure scared me, sweetie. What are you doing out this late? I mean, not that I’m one to talk, but I was heading back to my hotel, and I’d heard some rumors about this mansion so I thought it’d be interesting to check out…"

The scream of the girl apparently scared him a bit, so loud...Maybe seeing a person in the dark with white clothes wasn't a good thing anyways.

"Uh..." The girl's ask made him think a bit. But thinking wouldn't help, so he just said it directly. "I don't know..." He said in a kind of whisper, before saying it normally. "I don't know what I am doing here..."

How easy it would be for him if he remembered things...He wouldn't only be able to explain why he was there, late of night, in an old mansion, but he wouldn't forget some friends, too. But he was working on that! If he take up his little plain of using pictures to remember people (and if he remembers of this plain, of course) he wouldn't forget them!

Takane could still swear that she was forgetting something, though. Ahh, how annoying, it was going to nag at her all day until she figured it out, too. Her expression was a little more sour than usual as she shuffled down the sidewalk, fingers wrapped around the straps of the bag hung carefully over her shoulder. It wasn’t much of an issue to make her way through the somewhat busy boardwalk seeing as everyone sort of.. weaved around her. Not that you could blame them, though.

Given the look on Takane’s face was literally anything but friendly. 

The sudden collision pulled the brunette from her thoughts with a small ‘oof’; her face was exactly parallel to whoever’s chest this was and that was literally ridiculous. How tall do you have to be—

"Ah." Well. This was a surprise— Takane blinked a few times at the repetitive apologies, hands shifting her headphones around her neck carefully before they were held up a bit. "Konoha—? It’s okay, it’s fine, calm down.." What was he even doing here..?

But, now he was more attracted by the fact that the girl knew his name. Was it normal that people that he doesn't know actually know his name? No, it can't be possible, since they didn't meet before...Konoha was a non-sense guy but at least thinking a bit he knows it's not possible to someone that he didn't meet before know his name-

Or they've met, but he forgot.

Really, that would be a obvious possibility, but who knows. Konoha just wonders, but he doesn't actually know if it's true. The fact that he would forgot someone easily...it makes he wonder things like 'Have I met this person before?' until he directly asks the person.

Whoa, wait a moment, what was with this guy? Kaito’s comical double take had him staring before he flipped back a little on his heel, eyes flickering back and forth between… well, everything. Who wore those clothes in summer and actually got away with it?

Speak for yourself, Kaito. Right, he must be cosplaying or something — maybe they was an event around here? Then wouldn’t be be asking where the convention was rather than food?

Anyways, he looked at the way where the boy pointed. So there was the way where he should go to find food! "Thank you!" He said with the calm tone as always and a small smile. "Um, yeah...I moved to here this week." The boy said 'too', then he is from out of the city, like Konoha, huh...

"Are you lost?" Well, usually it would be normal finding someone who just moved that got lost. Konoha also noticed moments before he asked the boy about the food that maybe he was lost, but sometimes he can get it wrong, you know.

Oooh, oooh! She really shouldn’t be… out this late at night without calling her manager, but she sure was curious about this decrepit old looking mansion in front of her. The windows were broken, there was nary a breeze tonight, and shivers ran down her spine.

She had to admit, even though she didn’t enjoy ghost stories much, the urge to explore it was… almost overwhelming, and Rise stood outside the ratty mansion, eyeing it with a glare. Go inside and explore… or not… Ooooh, only if she could decide!

Maybe someone called him there but he forgot who it was? He wasn't sure, but he knew he had a reason. Ahh...what was it, what was it...? Ahh, he couldn't remember. He just stared at the old place and walked in the door's direction. Well, if that could be considered a door, since it looked like it was destroyed...

Instead of entering the mansion, he sat in front of the door. Konoha would surely get scared if he entered the house now. He could just go home, but he had a reason to be there, hadn't he? Or it was just his imagination?
