damn I miss them so much (fictional characters I could return to at any moment)

i truly do hate the way 911 deals with shitty parents and parental trauma. like, genuinely. this is one of the show's main weaknesses. to me. in that their message that forgiveness and giving people who have consistently fucked you up the benefit of the doubt heals. is repeatedly at odds with the story of trauma and found family they are telling. like, for once. i would actually like them to acknowledge that NOT forgiving a parent (or parents) is its own catharsis. like, forgiveness is not the only path to healing. and i'm so tired of it being presented as such (not just in 911. but in general).

when we come back from hiatus there better be a scene where someone randomly stops the 118 in the middle of a call and points to chimney like “omg weren’t you that sexy doctor in that one scene from hotshots???” and chimney’s having the time of his life, he’s offering to take a selfie, autograph their stuff, etc. meanwhile buck and eddie are like “we were the nurses 😄” and the person is just like “…right 🤨” and goes straight back to chim.

ALSO eddie being like. swim club? chess club? oh. nobody told me. can you ask abuelita to send pictures to me. he is being actively shut out of christopher's life by his parents. they are literally raising his son with no thought or care to helping repair the relationship between eddie and chris. goodbye to whatever character growth they tried to give them in s6 it's time for the lava pit
