“It is! It is difficult for me to make time for you and you know it!” now he was the one raising his voice. “I’m still getting used to being lord for a whole nation and you’re not making it easy by fighting with me over a stupid vase of wine I could’ve asked to be brought!”

“It’s really not fair of you to complain about every little thing I do wrong!” the man felt his heartbeat raising. “I’m trying my best, I really am, but if the fact that I’ll need to step out of our relationship every now and then is bothering you then something bigger is happening.”

“The fuck is that supposed to mean?” Brows furrowed, confused and angry. “When did I ever complain about your work!? I’ve been further than understanding about our situation, you don’t get to tell me how I’ve been feeling.”

“I’m not! I need you to understand me, I—.”

Your voice cut him off. “I understand you! I always have!” impotence began to wash over your body. “I’m the one always understanding you, forgetting dates, rescheduling outings together… We had to move feeding the turtle ducks to a different day because you didn’t have time and guess what I did? Brown colored and troubled eyes looked at yours with concern, hurt by such betrayal.

You took that moment to appreciate how your girlfriend looked when taking down the guards, you were sure your eyes were heart shaped at that moment. You didn’t remember how good she looked in action, but were feeling blessed to have sights of it again. When the shooting stopped, Gihun pushed you to walk again; now he was beside you while Hyunju was on your other side.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍“I won’t take another one like this when we get to Thailand, I promise.” you looked back to her, taking her hand and squeezing it a little.

Thoughts were stopped by a sudden bang, your eyes opened surprised and Hyunju let out a scream. A new group of soldiers had caught up to you and to stop you from giving them access, a bullet had been shot to your throat.

While everyone started to fire back, Hyunju held you in her arms and applied pressure to the bleeding wound on your neck.

When you tried to speak, blood was being spat by your mouth, you felt like you were drowning. Your body started to feel heavy with every second passing by, was that really how you were going to leave?
