take the edge of. ha. hahahah. why hasn’t she done this before. she’s basically all edges, sharp and nervous as hell. she laughs shakily and nods, hesitating before taking it back, carefully. she hopes she’s allowed to have more. she inhales it and practically sighs it out.

     a slight smile tips her lips, first at the newly found steadiness and then at that quiet laugh. 

she may or may not blush slightly at that, running a hand through her hair before chewing her fingers. she can’t help it.

spring is approaching and christmas is long behind the people of hawkins and, along with the cold, the events that lead to the disappearance and reappearance of will byers have been left in the past. it’s now march 1984 and the hawkin’s town fair has come to town and everyone is out to celebrate the start of the warmer weather and the lack of strange things for the last few months.

Eleven had escaped and that’s all that mattered to her . Of course she knew that the bad men were after her RIGHT NOW , looking to drag her back to that lab , to that metal box , or even kill her . But the air around her was so new , so fresh - she was seeing things for the first time EVER . She was scared , and yet she needed to see more . Thoughts turned and turned in her head of what Papa had done to her , of what experiments she had been put through ; of the MONSTER that she had let out . Eleven was jumpy , squeamish , so when the woman practically pounced at her , the girl jumped away , afraid they had already found her .

fear, fear and tears from the girl. she hadn’t meant to scare her, hadn’t meant to make her think she was one of them. she inhales deeply, trying to gather herself. she can’t scare her more, but she has to make her understand.

‘ you’re being chased. bad men bad women bad people - they want you hurt, want to make you suffer. i - i can prote - protect you. o - or at - at least i will try t - to. with my life. ‘

she smiles, shaky and nervous. she doesn’t want her to get caught again, and she doesn’t know how fast they’re coming. she just knows she has to get the child out of here as fast as she can.

the dawning sense of dread is beginning to settle in. they’re definitely coming.

the psychic holds out a trembling hand.
