A crazy spot on the Chauga River in South Carolina!  The trail is only 6/10′s of a mile to the narrows.  As you walk along the calm Chauga River you will wonder how something so peaceful can become so turbulent.  But when the rapids hit, it is major!  It starts with a small but wide waterfall and then it narrows into this crazy chute that goes for a couple hundred feet.  A very loud and wonderful spot on the river.

The impressive and mighty Bull Sluice on the Chattooga River that forms the border between Georgia and South Carolina.  This class V rapid is a very popular spot for kayaks and rafts but can also be viewed from the shore via a short walk from the parking area.  It is a very beautiful spot on the river.

This kid friendly waterfall in the upstate of South Carolina is easy to reach.  It is only about a 300 yard walk to the base of the waterfall.  It is also very close to other great destinations that are numerous in Oconee County.

A very unique spot in the South Carolina forest is the beautiful water feature called Eastatoe Narrows or just “The Narrows”.  Easily reached via a moderate five mile hike the area also has a few primitive campsites.  A great spot to visit!

A great hike that is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It is a moderate hike that isn’t too long and is highly recommended if you are in the area.  Sims Pond is a beautiful water feature!

An easy to reach waterfall that is just off Highway 215 near Canton, NC.  The trailhead is at the hairpin turn just up the road from the old stone bridge at Sunburst Falls.  If the creek isn’t flowing too much, you can also reach Wash Hollow Falls which is only about 100 yards past Sam Branch Falls.

The stunning Sam Branch Falls is very easy to reach once you are up the initial hill that is just off highway 215.  The trailhead is near the old stone bridge at Sunburst Falls near Canton North Carolina.  Wash Hollow Falls is only about 100 yards past Sam Branch Falls making this an easy two waterfall hike.  For a video guide of this hike, please visit:  https://www.hdcarolina.com/episode/sam-branch-wash-hollow-falls
