ʜᴏʟʏ ᴡᴀᴛᴇʀ ♰ ᴡᴀsʜ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴍᴇ

“I’ve got a best friend who could be her twin.” That was putting it lightly, even twins had differences, they were doppelgangers, they were exactly the same. Caroline wasn’t exactly expecting Jo to talk about Sam and Dean that way, especially when Sam seemed to talk about her with a grin, like they might be close. “Seems like it. Want to head back to my place and talk?” If they both knew the things she was thinking, then they probably shouldn’t have this conversation in public. 

“Elena. We’ve met.” It wasn’t that Jo wasn’t fond of the boys, she loved them dearly, but Dean had recently climbed on every single on of her nerves and unfortunately for Sam, he was thrown into the Harvelle Hellfire with his brother. “--- I don’t finish up here for a while.” She admitted honestly, while her main job was hunting, that didn’t pay the bills so Jo needed her shifts at the grill. “If your Ma is home you can come by my place around 11.”

Someone’s got to do it and since your mother’s not here, I guess that falls to me. This is a hell of a lot bigger than just a vampire or a rabid werewolf, Jo, okay? Just…keep your distance. I’m not asking.

“Oh my god.” Jo couldn’t help but laugh at him. “You’re serious? You’re actually serious? Where do you get off? You’re not my father or my brother Dean, I am not some lost little puppy who needs your help. In fact, I’ve been saving myself and hunting my way around this hell hole of a country for a while now. I don’t need your piss ass help.” She was angry, so incredibly angry and she didn’t understand how all this anger could bottle inside her form. “You’re not asking? What the fuck are you going to do about it? You have no say over what I do so you can royally piss off.” She continued muttering under her breath as she cleaned the bar, ignoring him all together.

“The only. I missed my opportunity to use that stupid overused Casablanca gin joint quote.” Not that the fact this bar was the only best one in town would’ve stopped Kai.

“---If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea what you’re talking about.” And she really didn’t. Jo lived a very sheltered and very isolated life.

“Because-” The obituaries would be full here if they publicized it all and there would be too much speculation. “-everyone talks in a small town, it never gives families enough room to grieve.” Caroline bit the inside of her cheek, she didn’t want to jump out and confess the nightmares to Jo if she really happened to be her just by chance, like Sam said. She had to be sure. “I know you said you’re staying out of it all, but are you here for Katherine too? Like your friends, Sam and Dean? Is there something you’re not telling me?”

Jo raised a brow, not really expecting Caroline to know that name. “How do you know Katherine?”  Flicking her hair behind her shoulder and avoiding eye contact, Jo tried not to step too much further into it. “I don’t know what those dolts are doing here other than pissing me off---- Maybe there are several things we aren’t telling each other.” Jo may have gotten a little defensive, but it was a trait she had inherited from her mother and she knew that aunt probably shared the same. Hopefully that would have given Caroline some sort of reason not to be too overly offended by her cousins hostility.

“That’s probably for the best, and yeah I guess I forgot to warn you about that. Things aren’t quite like we remember as kids.” Caroline sipped her coffee slowly before nodding. “Yes, I found out the next morning. Still don’t know how, most things  like death aren’t publicly addressed to keep everyone safe.” Not that she thought ignorance meant safety, but it still seemed to be bliss.

“Why wouldn’t they publicize that? We were all there, literally almost the entire town... Is there something you’re not telling me?”

Why would I go batshit on one of the finest places to have my multiple shots of tequila and karaoke?

“Finest or only?” Jo gave a chuckle. Mystic falls wasn’t a very big place, she knew that as far as tequila and karaoke went, this was about it.

If Ellen was here, she would still tell you to stay out of it. I don’t need her on my ass for getting you involved in something you got no place being in. I’m serious, Jo.

“Don’t be an idiot, Dean. I’m already involved. Why are you always like this? You’re not my fucking keeper so back the fuck off.”

Believe it or not, there’s something worse than that. It’s nothing you’re going to be worried about.

“Worse? And I’m not going to be worried? Could you sound any more like my mother?”

“Voldemort before Tommy Boy basically went batshit.” Kai suddenly frowned at himself and shook his head. “Wow. Nerd alert. Damn Corbin for rubbing off on me.”

“--- So you’re saying you’re gonna go batshit? Just please don’t do it at the bar. I didn’t sign up for that today.”

“Not that I know of. At least I hope. I’m just making assumptions, everyone seems to have some kind of bad news to deliver. I’m hoping all is going well for you at least.”

“I’ve just been keeping low--- staying out of it. You never told me this town was so weird and I don’t remember it being this fucked up when we were little. Did you know people were murdered at that party the other night?”

“Harry Potter, the whiny, angsty, boy who never seems to die?” Kai raised his eyes to the blonde and smirked. “Tom Riddle describes my life.”

“Who is---” Jo shook her head. “Nevermind. I’ll netflix the movies.”

You know, this Dark Lord psycho was onto something with the whole ‘splitting his soul and world domination’ thing. It’s like an instruction manual.

“--- I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jo had never read any of the books. She preferred reading Stephen King or classic thrillers.  

The apocalypse is probably going to show up with a suitcase and stay a while soon. 

“---What’s coming? Or did Trump seriously do something that no one told me about?”
