"Hmm, Dark red like my favorite wine." She hummed before picking the shade, swatching it with a smile she nodded. "Yeah, I guess this is the one." She did end up liking it more than the bright blood-red she was holding as well. it is indeed more like fall shades. She thought to herself. "Thanks."
She looked at the berry toned one, and nodded once more. "Yes, certainly your shade."
"For some reason I always associate that shade of red with Cruella de Vil. No idea why," Kendra said with a shrug, taking a closer look at the shade she had picked. "No problem. These are giving me all the fall vibes, which is exactly what I came for," she stated with a bright smile, dropping a few more colors into her basket. "It doesn't quite feel like fall until I update my wardrobe and makeup."
"See this as an invitation from the heavens." Hyung said with a sweeter smile than the chocolate did, don't mind the fact that it was all commercialized, if they end up liking the chocolate, chances are they'll visit the bakery more often and therefor it meant more money for himself.
"Thank you, I made them myself, so it's a compliment to the chef."
The chocolate perfectly melted in her mouth, filling her tongue with a sweetness she had been craving for without realizing it. "Wow. I definitely compliment you then. I watch those chocolate makers on Instagram sometimes and the stuff that can be made with chocolate is amazing to me," she admitted, finishing off the chocolate. "Do you just make chocolate or other things as well?"
He didn't know what to say. "We had a lot to discuss back then." He wanted to send her child support, but his parents wouldn't let him, and when he was old enough - well he feared it would have just been an additional cut to an injury made long ago.
"Kate please." He pleaded. "You always have been the one I love most, even after all this time, I still have those feelings for you." And for the child he never could know.
"My parents can't control me any longer - and I want to be with you, be a family again."
"Yeah, we did. But as I recall, you didn't decide to have those conversations and just left," she pointed out, pain in her tone. Now he wanted to talk? Now he wanted to have this discussion when it was too late? Kate sighed, covering her face with her hands a moment as she was knelt on the ground. God, why did he have to say he still loved her? It hurt so much to hear now. And yet somewhere deep down, she was happy to hear it. Part of her still loved him though she felt like she wasn't allowed to. But she didn't trust him. Not any more. She threw things into the box, not caring as she picked things up, just wanted to get away. "Now they can't control you? How am I supposed to believe that? After all this time, how could you possibly expect me to trust you?"
"Oh, I am certainly going up there-" Charlotta grinned. She was still looking through the many options that could handle her range of singing - seriously, she should maybe try for a Disney song. "god, I just can't choose a song I like." and she wasn't settling for titanic this time.
"That's what I like to hear! You can't just watch karaoke. You have to participate!" she declared, hopping up on her stool. "It is important to pick the perfect song that represents you and shows off a bit. Queen is always a great option if you can full off the Freddie Mercury flair," Kendra suggested, taking a sip of her martini.

"I guess I could take the role of an actor. or help paint the backdrops" He did a little acting when they were together, a change from the usual sports he usually played, he could sing too - wasn't he a dreamboat (well he was certain Kate wouldn't agree anymore). he just couldn't leave her alone. he missed her.
"I won't stop you. The theatre needs more participants," Kate said, using her best 'dealing with difficult kids and parents' voice. At least William had experience on the stage, which was useful for them. Kate's expertise had always been more behind the scenes, but it was another one of those things that had drawn them together all those years ago. "You can look for our auditions on the website or call the theatre about volunteering," she declared, still trying to be professional as she passed him a flyer.
𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐄 going out, but this time with two people she loves in her life, which is her daughter and her best friend. She was pulling the baby stroller, which certainly would use it for carry the bags from their shop trift today. Bonnie was well-dressed just in case, paparazzi appears in somewhere. ❛ Alright, from where we start? ❜ She inquired Kendra. She knew her bestie knows the best places or what to do in this state.
@hcartachesx
"Well, the best place to go for holiday decorations anywhere is Home Goods. So I figured we would start there," Kendra explained, pointing to the store right down the street from where she had met Bonnie. "I brought us refreshments as well to help with our shopping marathon," she said, handing Bonnie her drink. "If Agatha needs something, we have plenty of time, so don't worry about rushing or anything. Now do you have ideas of how you want to decorate?"
Hazel chuckled a little at the woman's words. "I wouldn't be against coming to see a production but I hardly think I'm going to be volunteering to act in it any time soon." She admitted, shaking her head. "I can barely get words out naturally let alone read a script." She taunted. "What's the production of, anyways? Are there any other particular roles other than being in it... That I could help out with?" Hazel offered, happy to offer her assistance where it may fit. @hcartachesx
"There is plenty of other things to do besides acting. We can always use help behind the scenes, whether that be building sets, tech, costumes, makeup... All sorts of things," she explained with a bright smile. "This year we're doing How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a family favorite. Even if you don't have time for the production itself, we could always use donations or help with refreshments and stuff."
It didn't seem much use to try and argue with the other, instead choosing to pick her battle which was finding a clean dish to pour some of the food into so that she could save the rest for the other to share with her eventually. Too many days blurred with the nights to where she kept trying to do the right thing by cleaning up the place and eventually move out, but Logan hadn't been able to do much of that yet. The money was drying up fast, leaving her with limited options that were harder to find with how little she even spoke about it to anyone other than Aaron. "At least come join me, so I don't have to sit here and watch you clean up my mess." And some that wasn't hers as well. But she didn't want to even think about that right then. "I'm not wallowing, not all the time. Hank doesn't let me. He has to go for walks and drags me along."
Kate paused in her cleaning up, thinking about what Logan was asking. She didn't plan to let Logan convince her to leave once the food was gone, so she moved back to the kitchen, sitting down with her. "I still plan to help you clean this place up," she added, picking up one of the lumpia's and taking a bite. Once she had swallowed the bite of food, she spoke up again, saying "If walking your dog is the only time you're not wallowing, then I think you're still wallowing. And it's okay to wallow. Trust me, I know. But eventually, you have to move past it or else it eats you alive." She knew after all. She hadn't moved forward and ended up needing her friends to drag her out of it.
"sounded like a bit of a cat wail," dante teases. truthfully, he didn't hear much. he had been a bit zoned out trying to decide what he wanted to drink before settling on whiskey like his father always drank. it was always the kind you had to sip on. "but i don't sing. my mom tried to put me in the boys choir and it didn't end well for anyone."
"Jerk!" Kendra declared, shoving his shoulder a bit. "I'll have you know I've been told I have a wonderful voice. So I know I killed that," she said, pointing to the stage that was now occupied by another person. "It doesn't matter if you can sing or not. That's not the point of karaoke. The worse you are the better! It's just supposed to be fun!" She pulled on his arm like a child begging for something. "C'mon, please? I'll sing with you! And be your best friend."

Robyn's lips curled into a grin, applauding the other when she left the stage. "Hey, that was incredible!" She chuckled. Her eyes widened, cheeks flushing at the idea. "Uh... I really don't think that's a wise idea, at all!" She let out yet another nervous laugh. "I think I'd wind up making everyone deaf with my awful singing. I think it's much better that someone else goes!" She argued, waving her head and hand in dismissal. @hcartachesx
"Thank you! I had to work hard to give Diana Ross justice," she said with a bright grin. "Why not? People put way more pressure on karaoke than it needs. It's just supposed to be fun. I mean, if you're good at it, that's great, but it's not a requirement. This is for all us normal people who don't have record deals after all." Might as well live out your rock star fantasy while you can.
"I'd probably omit the second part, it doesn't sell as much as the rest." He offered the advice, having seen her try to pass out a few flyers to people who looked at her and kept moving on. Rhett remembered a time when he'd been like that, passing out flyers from a band as a kid to get people to pack a venue. If they could fill it with bodies, it'd show that they had potential; but this was a bit different as he took one with a bit of a grin. "You're inviting them to come in for the show then you've got them looking to work it. It's mildly confusing, unless they're looking for something to do that'll pass more time than a few hours."
"I just want people to know that there are options if they want to participate in their community. Coming to the show is great, but we also need all the help we can get to keep productions going," she explained, straightening up her stack of papers. "Going to the show can be a great family activity too. And we have a great show this year," she explained, holding up a flier that mentioned they were doing How the Grinch Stole Christmas. "Wanna put on a fuzzy green suit and some face paint? You could be our Grinch."
“I don’t doubt it, but could you do a high-kick in a dress like that? It doesn’t seem practical. You gotta have room to kick.” He lifted his leg in the laziest demonstration of a kick ever, only to throw her an unimpressed look when she spoke about the aura the costume was supposed to convey. He nodded though, the expression vanishing after she said she already pulled off that beautiful and dangerous aura. “Oh okay, I thought I was going to have to say something about that. So anyway, you’ve got all that down, so we need something that looks regal.” He sorted through a couple of dresses. “So… like. Something green?”
"You're assuming I can even do much of a high kick in the first place. I want to embody that sort of character, but I know my limits. I'm not nearly as flexible for that in real life," she admitted with a laugh at herself. Honestly, she would probably get about as high as his lame attempt of a kick if she tried. "Does it not come across how badass I am? Do I need to carry the sword around for that?" she asked, striking a very Charlie's Angels pose. "The official color of royalty is purple, so I'm thinking something in that range. Maybe a dark blue. And gold. Lots of gold."
“yeah, of course, it’s a process, don’t feel like you have to rush to do that!” kiara nodded at the other women, wanting her to feel comfortable and not pressured. “no need to thank me, i actually love picking out clothes for people.” she moved closer to the clothes racks behind herl she really did enjoy it but she could also see the other women’s discomfort and kiara did not want to leave her feeling like that.
“she’s great like that, she gets along with everyone. she even befriended my dad’s ex-wife.” before realizing that was definitely TMI to share over a clothing rack, the words had already left her mouth. “sorry, awkward - back to dresses. is above the knee okay? because this one is really lovely.” kiara turned her head back, pulling the dress off the hanger beside her.
She didn't say anything to that. It had already been such a long time since then, but she still didn't feel recovered or over it. She didn't think that would ever happen for her. "Maybe you can make a career out of it. Personal shoppers are a thing after all. Not that I have the money to pay you for this help," Kate added quickly, not wanting the other to think she wanted to hire her but not pay or something. "I wish my mom were a bit more like that, at least with my stepmom. Probably make the whole divorce thing a bit easier. But she's not exactly an easy woman," she admitted, knowing what it was like to grow up in a home like that. They all got along decently now, but they weren't hanging out when they didn't have to. "It's fine. I mean, it depends on how above the knee we're talking."
Beth's cheeks are already warm when Kendra places a kiss upon one. It takes all her composure not to melt right then and there, the words a much needed confidence boost not only just today but all the time lately. "Damn, keep going!" She teases, all but throwing her head back in laughter. "True. Not sure if I can pull off sexy in this weather, though." Back home she'd felt the same way. London October's weren't any more forgiving than Denver's, less so if anything. "I'm too lazy to follow trends like that. My hair and wallet have never been more grateful for it." Beth rolls her eyes. "Please! That's crazy to me. You're so talented."
"I really could keep going, but I can't have you falling too much in love with me," Kendra joked, laughing right along with her. "I mean, at least you would be fully covered. I don't know how warm those suits are though. Maybe we can find a lined one that will keep you warm," she suggested. Couldn't you find everything online these days? "Maybe I'll just get a blonde wig installed for a bit. See if blondes do have more fun," she joked. "Thanks. I guess my feelings over my whole cancelled wedding are getting mixed up with my faith in myself. I'm working on it though."

"Well." Full stop. Owen didn't look particularly impressed as he stared down at the flyer, wondering what exactly had possessed him to even pause long enough to take one. A desperate need for stimulation, he supposed, his slow walk through the craft fair not at all easing his stress but instead making him feel amped up — and judgmental, apparently, because on his next breath, he opened his mouth to drawl passively, "It doesn't seem like you have much of a production at all, if you're still out here trolling for volunteers." But what did he know about charitable organizations? Blue eyes flicked back towards the other, a tenseness forced from his shoulders before asking, "What show are you putting on?"
"We can always use extra help behind the scenes to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. And it's helping the community, so there are plenty of different options for that. Just because they may not help this time doesn't mean they won't help in our spring production or something else," Kate explained with a patient smile. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Which means there are plenty of spaces for the ensemble left."
Shiloh enjoyed going out and watching other people perform at karaoke but you would be hard pressed to find her getting up onto a stage somewhere. She had been enjoying a drink and clapped when the person finished up their song. She raised an eyebrow and looked over at the other as they approached. "Looked like you had fun but I will leave all the fun for everyone else. Nobody wants to hear me sing."
"Of course I had fun! That's the point of karaoke!" Kendra said with a grin, taking a sip of her drink. "I want to hear you sing. It's supposed to be for fun. It's not a talent show. We're not supposed to be good at this. Did you hear the guy singing Yung Gravy up there? Totally awful, but he clearly had a fun time with it."
