Westallen shippers who claim Barry loves Iris more than Iris loves him are so annoying. Just because Barry is more the “grand gestures” type doesn’t mean Iris loves him any less! She just has different ways of showing her love, and that’s valid. And not only is it ridiculous to claim “Barry loves Iris more than Iris loves him”, it’s also shooting our ship in the foot to say bs like this
While it might not be the same group of people, it is very telling when so many people complain about Oliver and Laurel not being a couple in Arrow because they want comic accuracy to then have so many people complain because Barry and Iris are the main couple in the Flash even if it’s comic accurate
The beginning of Arrow season 4 and Flash season 2 is literally just the set up/gathering of the Legends. The shows are both just jumping from one side quest to the next lol
So much of the agggtm season 2 soundtrack feels like it’s been pulled straight from 2020/2021 booktok and I am here for it

in almost every other children's book where the main heroine is swept away to a land of whimsy she's shown having a lovely time; braving dangers occasionally, trying to find her way home, sure, but ultimately delighting in the magic around her. meanwhile alice spends her entire time in wonderland like
look, here’s the thing: alice in wonderland’s enduring fucking charm is that it perfectly captures the vibe of being a very tired and annoyed child who is nonetheless required to play along with adult nonsense.
alice is dragged from place to place without warning, forced to play stupid games with no good prizes, grilled over her schooling and manners and recitation and dress, scolded, judged, insulted to her face, sent away, given gifts she didn’t ask for and doesn’t like, corrected incorrectly, been subject to shifting and arbitrary rules, and then when she gets snappish with all this bullshit everyone acts like a little girl’s temper is the end of the fucking world.
alice in wonderland isn’t a drug trip or a nightmare or a metaphor, that’s just what being ten years old is LIKE. that’s why kids love it so much. even if they can’t quite articulate how, they recognize themselves in it.
I'm gonna go ahead and add - the reaction image is barely even a joke. This is the original illustration of her at the Mad Hatter's tea party.
look at how fucking angry she is
"19th century child points out what a load of bullshit expectations for 19th century children were" is the most enduring type of 19th century children's book for a reason

unsaid emily is such a uniquely heartbreaking ballad in concept and it kills me that it's just faded to obscurity. they wrote a song about all the things a dead boy didn't get to say to his mother before he died. the last time he spoke to her was an argument. he has the voice of an angel. and it's all framed by a girl bringing the lyrics from his songbook to his mother 25 years after he died, to give her closure. what the fuck.

There are so many questionable changes made in season one of the aggtm tv show and I can see the reasoning for a lot of them (even if it’s not great and I don’t like them) but the most puzzling one is the fact that Elliot Ward knew Isla wasn’t Andie but still decided to kidnap her anyway. In general, the changes they make to the story have such an impact on his character and it feels like they just wanted him to be a very clear cut bad guy when the whole point of the entire case is that it is messy, including his involvement, but he is still definitely a really bad guy.

i keep laughing at the way that eridian culture in the movie and eridian culture in the book are not contradictory at all, if you accept that movie rocky is just a total FREAK
grace: boy i sure can't wait to meet other eridians haha! rocky, putting on a shirt for the first time in four years: rocky has something to tell grace but does grace promise not to be mad, question?
I can't leave this in the tags lmaooo
why not have the reader re-read a sentence now and then? it won't hurt him....
I'm sitting at a table playing chess on my phone during a free period, iPod blasting some Radiohead song into my ears to block out the vomit-inducing music.

I know it's been half a decade (That's honestly wild to say), and I should probably be over it by now, but I'm still angry about the cancellation of Julie and the Phantoms, and I don't think I ever won't be.
