I feel sort of invalid as a trans man because i didn't experience gender dysphoria from a very young age. Until i was about eight years old i felt comfortable being a girl, i had "feminine interests", didn't mind my name or pronouns, and felt overall comfortable with my physical appearance. I used to like my name a lot, actually. At 9 i started knowing something was feeling a little bit off, but mostly i thought it was just discomfort with my name, so i went by a nickname. When i was 10 i "discovered" transgenderism in a way—not that i didn't know what it was before, but i really didn't know how it worked. I think a bit before I was 11 I started identifying as non-binary. Then, at 12, i settled down as a genderfluid, GNC trans man. That is still how I identify today. Before i was 8, i wouldn't imagine any of this. I really liked being a girl. I always my other trans male friends say things like: "oh, i always was the dad/husband when i was playing pretend!" or "i used to tell people online i was a boy!", etc. But i didn't do any of that, I felt normal being a girl. I was nerdy, yes, but i didn't have any "traditionally masculine" interests until i was about 8. I dressed in a feminine way, my hair was long, and all of that stuff. And i didn't have a problem with that! I don't know why this makes me feel so invalid, but still. Maybe it's connected to my deep rooted fear of "not deserving to transition because I'm not trying hard enough". I think this is all, sorry for the ramble.
