You start seeking out the logos, the source of all logic and truth, and you try to build a real, vertical relationship with God. You want to be a man of love, a candle in the wind, a steady light in a room full of flickering shadows.

​And what do you get for it? Your homeboy looks at you sideways. He stops picking up the phone. He does not want to hang out, and behind your back, he starts whispering that you have lost your mind.

​Suddenly, standard issue spiritual growth, a tradition billions of people have walked for over two thousand years, gets slapped with a clinical label.

​Call it what it is: a modern day psychiatric smear campaign.

​It reminds you of the old Soviet KGB playbook. Back in the day, the regime did not always need a firing squad; sometimes it was much cleaner to declare a dissident mentally unfit and throw him into a psychiatric ward. Why? Because if you can convince the public that a sane man is suffering from sluggish schizophrenia, you do not have to engage with his arguments anymore. You just invalidate the man, call it a pathology, and keep the machine running.

​Applying the term religious psychosis to everyday repentance and discipline is doing the exact same work on a cultural scale.

​Nobody is denying that clinical extremes exist. Pathology is real, and religious extremism is a fact. But there is a massive, generational gulf between an actual mental break and a human being simply deciding to clean up their act, drop the garbage, and align themselves with a higher standard.

​When a secular culture normalizes low frequency living, cynicism, and self indulgence, health starts to look like a disease. If the baseline of society is sliding backward, a man standing up straight and aiming for the light does not look normal to them. He looks like an anomaly that needs to be explained away. Because if his personal turnaround highlights the compromise in their own lives, it is threatening. It is a whole lot easier to institutionalize holiness in your own mind than it is to admit that your lifestyle is hollow.

​So before anybody opens their mouth to point fingers and diagnose a friend for trying to get right, maybe they need to do a little inventory first.

​Look in the mirror. Assess your own life, your own decisions with your free will, and where you stand. A real friend does not act like the ice under your feet just because you decided to climb out of the mud.

​Fine. Let’s steelman their position. Let's build their argument as strong as it can possibly get:

The steelman view is that human beings are entirely self-contained engines of rational thought, evolving in a closed, material universe where all knowledge is self-generated, and any appeal to a transcendent, uncaused Source of logic is just an unnecessary metaphysical crutch.

​That is their absolute best pitch. That is the penthouse suite of secular materialism.

​And even when you give it all the steel, all the polish, and all the academic framing they could possibly ask for... the whole structure still completely collapses under its own weight.

​Because if you claim that human intellect is just a random byproduct of a closed, material system, then logic itself ceases to exist. If your thoughts are nothing more than chemical collisions and electrochemical accidents bouncing around a skull, you have no reason to trust your own conclusions, let alone lecture anyone else about truth. A computer glitch doesn't "discover" a universal law; it just malfunctions.

​The moment you try to use logic to argue that logic has no transcendent source, you've sawed off the very branch you're sitting on. The steelman falls apart because the foundational premise is rotten.

​You don't need to play their game of false binaries. When you recognize that the Author of all reason is the one who wired the human mind to decode His creation, the trap springs open. Let them keep building their fragile little boxes out of bad-faith assumptions. We're anchored to the Rock.

That temporary covering points directly forward to the ultimate, uncreated, infinite flesh of Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, who replaces temporary animal skins with His own divine life in the new creation.

The escape from Egypt is not just an old historical event; it is the grand rehearsal for the sacramental life of the New Covenant. An unblemished lamb saves the Israelites from physical death through its blood, followed immediately by a mandatory meal of its flesh. Christ fulfills this precisely as our Passover, commanding us to consume His flesh and blood in the Eucharist to secure our spiritual liberation. Manna was bread miraculously sent down from heaven every morning to sustain a dying people on the journey to the Promised Land. Jesus declares Himself to be the true bread from heaven, stating that whoever eats His flesh possesses eternal life. When Moses strikes the rock in the desert, life giving water gushes out. Saint Paul explicitly tells us that the Rock was Christ, struck upon the Cross so that the living water of the Holy Spirit could flood a thirsty world.

When we look at the structure of worship and authority, the Old Testament provides the exact floor plan for what we see in Catholic practice. Melchizedek is a mysterious king priest of Salem who offers a sacrifice of bread and wine to Abraham outside the Levitical system. Christ is designated a high priest forever according to that exact order, continually offering Himself under the forms of bread and wine in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Ark of the Covenant was the golden vessel that physically carried the Word of God in stone, the heavenly bread, and the rod of Aaron, all overshadowed by the divine cloud of glory. In Luke, Mary visits Elizabeth, and the text mirrors David's encounter with the Ark down to the exact phrasing. Mary physically carries the eternal Word, the true Bread, and the Eternal High Priest within her womb, overshadowed by the Holy Spirit as the New Ark of the Covenant. In the Davidic Kingdom, the King appointed a chief steward holding the keys of the house of David with the authority to bind and loose. Jesus, as the eternal Son of David, establishes His Church as a kingdom and hands those exact keys and the office of chief shepherd to Peter.

Pop culture spent forty years trying to sell you the lie that the devil is a brooding, dark lord titan sitting on a throne of fire. But when you strip away the Hollywood fog, the reality is a lot funnier: the great rebel angel isn't a dark warlord. He’s the king of a flaming, anti life pantomime, and his favorite ritual is a death cult disguised as a party.

Yet they yap about idols because their fractured, man made traditions leave them utterly blind to the difference between the supreme adoration due to God alone and the proper historical honor given to the Queen Mother.

Let’s get one absolute fact straight for any chronically misinformed: Catholics do not worship Mary, period, because you will not find a single line of Catholic dogma, catechism, or historical teaching that commands or permits the adoration of any creature over the Creator. Conflating the supreme adoration due to God alone with the biblical honor given to the saints out of sheer ignorance is just swinging blindly at a straw man of your own making.

The logical collapse is that Christianity is a public proclamation. Today, the modern individualist treats admonishment as an attack, because in their world, their personal opinion is the final authority. They have abandoned the Apostolic model of the body for a model of the sovereign self. Jesus admonishing Peter shows that God works through fallible men, not that He voids the office He established. If the Lord can hold a man accountable and still grant him the keys to the Kingdom, then his human flaws do not negate his divine mandate. You are mistaking a lesson in humility for a revocation of authority. The Church is built on the rock, not on the flawless performance of the men holding the keys.

This path inevitably leads to a Gnostic Cul-de-Sac. Follow the trail to its logical end. It begins with the belief that salvation depends on your ability to choose and believe, moves to the stance that your intellect is the judge of what constitutes authentic grace, and concludes that salvation is not an objective gift from God but a specialized internal realization. This is Gnosticism, where the Divine is merely a mirror reflecting your own ego. By making your own understanding the mandatory key to God's door, you have not found a path to heaven; you have built a pedestal for your own brain. And that is not Christianity. That is just Gnosticism with a Bible in its hand.

When you remove the objective power of the Sacrament, you are left with nothing but the self. If the infant cannot be saved because they cannot think, then the adult is only saved because they can think. And if your thinking is the primary instrument of your salvation, then your faith is just a mirror of your own narcissism. They attack the Catholic for believing in the gift, because they cannot handle a gift they did not engineer. They demand a god who waits for their signal. But that is not a God. That is a servant.
