before anyone calls what måneskin did today performative or a straight up queerbait, sit back and let me tell you how living in this country looks like.

you’re born here and the moment you notice that there might be something slightly different about you you learn to hide your true identity. from the young age the church that has huge influence teaches you to hate lgbt people, tells you that if you’re like them you’ll end up burning in hell, that you’re an abomination, there must be clearly something wrong with your head.

our current president has called lgbt people an “ideology”, has said that they’re simply not human nor do the deserve any ounce of respect. his whole campaign last year (bc yes, he got re-elected) was based off of hatred towards different minorities, be it muslim people, immigrants or the whole lgbt community.

just yesterday the leader of our ruling party has been fined during a parliament meeting because he and the other party members were CLAPPING while the others were talking about suicides of lgbt teens in this country.

every day you’re told that your existence is a sin, that you’re an abomination and that you’ll never be accepted. now they want to ban any lgbt portrayal in the public media.

so maybe for the western part of the world what they did isn’t enough, bc damiano and thomas are straight etc, but for us it was a miracle, a huge burst of light in between all this darkness. and i truly cannot thank them enough for what they did today.

They identify as straight, and tbh two straight men being performative and hailed as LGBTQ+ idols doesn't sit right with me

Especially when Victoria is out as bisexual and Ethan considers himself sexually free (which I suppose means not straight)

And judging by the posts I've seen around, a lot of the people losing their minds over the kiss are straight women and girls with a fetish for pretty men being homoerotic, but still straight so they can fantasize about them :/

I loved Damiano's message of course, but the kiss seemed so extra when we know there are no actual romantic or sexual feelings behind it

It's like they just wanted to be controversial because Polish tv is homophobic
