Hass Johnson on eCommerce

The Smartphone War is as fun to watch as the Super Bowl and has more drama than TNT. It has no season and is continuously evolving.

After obtaining my bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems at Clark Atlanta University, I joined Ford Motor Company for nearly 5 years. There I worked in marketing, product development and manufacturing. I was generally on the technology side of the business, but spent 6 months in market research, which was my first non-technical role. I left the organization as an application portfolio manager for product development, managing muti-million dollar systems.

I left Ford to do my MBA at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. Most of my classes were about entrepreneurship, marketing and or strategy. In my last semester I studied in Brazil to experience international business and cultures and dig deeper into sustainable business strategies.

Upon my return to the US, I founded a tech company, which I ran for 2.5 years. There I learned the responsibility of managing people and being responsible for their well being. There is great duty in leadership and it requires entrepreneurs, business owners and CEOs to be dependable and concerned for people and growth. They have to focus on expanding their business and enriching their employees.

Before joining Bigcommerce, I rounded out my automotive experience and spent 3 months working in automotive retail. While unexpected, this was a valuable piece of the business that I missed while at Ford.

After joining Bigcommerce, I found what I love to do. Leverage my extensive professional and personal experiences to help creative people, entrepreneurs, business owners and CEOs grow their business through intuitive technology and e-commerce.
