For anyone that's been part of my journey for a while, you know that I focus on a new resolution every month. Yes, this month is about photography. But more than that, it's supposed to be about cultivating a hobby, taking time to enjoy a craft and increasing my knowledge. I'm loving finding the little moments in life...like this little fly literally on the wall, gross but beautiful in its own way. There's never enough time to do it all, but I'm enjoying giving myself permission to take photos for the sake of taking photos, despite how long the rest of my To Do list might be. 23.4 seconds. Going to haunt me forever. I'm crushed. My time: 2:00:23.4. How?!?! Sorry for the gruesome photo. This makes me feel like at least it wasn't for lack of effort. Best half marathon time by over ten minutes. But can't believe I didn't dig deeper and achieve my goal. My running app time and distance were so screwed up, I didn't have a clue how close I was. Thought I had it. Lesson learned that good ol' fashion watches still serve a purpose! I gotta laugh though...tinkled twice will running. Totally TMI but I think it's hilarious. I'd see the water stations and take a sip of delicious, cold water and it'd be uncontrollable 😂. Welp, you win some you lose some. Highs and lows today...this photo sums it up well. Second long run: 8 miles. Had my best 2 miles of any run, under 9 min/mile...booya! But the hills in today's run killed me. Also learned I need to hydrate better. Overall, pretty stoked to surpass the 8 mile hurdle! P.S. Foot feels amazing! Changed up the shoes and I think that did the trick. Friends should be the people in your life who challenge you to be the best version of yourself. 2 miles of grueling uphill (for me) + 2 miles of downhill roller coasters with @errbutler (Love you, girl ❤️). August 1st. New day. New month. New resolution. The beauty of this goal is there's no cheating, there's no pressure to do something everyday. The proof of my effort will be on August 30th when I run the half marathon. This goal keeps me honest. To you but more importantly to myself. If I don't eat right, get enough sleep, train, train HARD...I might fail. And if I do those things I still might fail. Terrified of this goal but love it at the same time.
