Stuck at the Door || allie-the-claw
"I hope they like me." Allie expressed in a worried tone, her eyebrows knitting together. "They may reject me completely. But, I think as long as Iâm polite to them, theyâll be okay with me."Â
The easiness of the conversation and the flow of everything allowed Allie to become completely comfortable as she let her hand slip from her hair and fall in her lap. The usual nervous habits she exhibited were far from her behavior at this point, as she was much too taken with the conversation to worry about being anxious any longer.
She felt herself perk up along with him as he talked about Oliver. He seemed genuinely happy. He seemed to sit up a little straighter and his eyes were shining with excitement. Allie couldnât help but feel al ittle jealous. Sheâd always wanted a companion like that - someone she was that close to.Â
"He sounds interesting - smart. Thatâs probably why you both get along so well. You seem very close. I wish I had someone like that to grow up with. I usually just talked to my mum when I was younger - there werenât many children in our neighborhood." She explained, smiling as she talked about her mother.Â
"Was there another house you would have picked? I canât say for certain, but I donât think I could picture you in any other house. You seem to have a healthy appetite for knowledge, though I wonât lump you with the rest of us. Youâre quite interesting, actually, you seem to possess more qualties than that of the typical Ravenclaw." She observed, taking his interests and mannerisms into consideration.Â
Allieâs face split into a grin.Â
"The more the merrier, indeed!" Her voice was no longer quiet, and she allowed her true excitement to seep into it. She was truly excited that someone actually enjoyed her company. It was a rare occasion when she felt like she could talk to someone, and she coudnât help but get happy about it. "Youâve just gained quite possibly the most boring friend ever, but Iâm still here, none the less."
He knew they would. She was gentle enough with what appeared to be very pure intentions, he couldn't imagine a reason they wouldn't like her. If they had one, he surely would have already detected it.Â
"We are very close. I feel like his mum half the time though, always watching after him and making him do his homework. I don't mind it, to be honest, just sometimes I wonder if somethings is wrong. His mind is always on something else, it's a bit odd." He shrugged, sighing to himself slightly.Â
"Hufflepuff is the house my father was in, I thought I'd be in that, honestly. But the only thing I'm really loyal to is animals, and maybe Oliver, so that might be why I wasn't put there."Â
He grinned, "I doubt that, I'm sure you're very interesting," he stiffled a yawn, "but I do think I am going to have to retire, soon. These bruises won't mend unless I get some sleep."
