“i got you a present,” he tells harper, a grin on his face like a kid who’s just lost his first tooth, hands behind his back. “don’t worry, it’s not a man, it’s…” he draws off building anticipation for his amazing present, swinging his hands to the front holding a small cactus. “you can’t kill this one, i asked for a plant impossible to kill.”

Harper is never sure quite what she should expect from Asher, from blind dates to mysterious hands behind his back. Her nose wrinkles in anticipation. “Not a man this time? Disappointing,” she jokes. Her eyes light up at the small cactus in his hands. She has raised a couple cacti, but left them at home to be cared for. “You’re kidding! That’s so thoughtful, Asher. This will definitely survive ship life.”

“ harper look ! ” she said before offering a fry to a seagull who ate it right out of her hand. “ they’re so cute, i love them. ” grabbing another fry and tossing it in the air a wide grin on her face as a bird caught it mid flight. @harpermogen​

Harper laughed quietly, shaking her head. “They really are cute but they’re so pesky too. If you looked away for a split second they’d have all your fries.” She watched as the gull waddled around the spot they’d selected. “Do you think their diet mainly consists of tourist fries at this point?”

duckie: somehow i've completely missed seattle in all of my travels and i am PUMPED for it!!

duckie: you bet your ass i will! we've GOT to get pictures! if only for the seattle portion of the picture book i keep telling myself i'm gonna make someday (and am not even close to starting, lmao)

harper: yes i feel like i never knew i needed cute og starbucks pictures until now

Jude: SEATTLE!!!!!!!!! home to the iconic grunge scene and some of the weirdest fucking architecture you've ever seen, i've visited here before. it's so awesome. definitely!!!!! but i'm also gonna show you some drive through coffee places because they're superior to starbucks. wait until you try dutch bros. your life will be changed forever.

harper: you're the second person to mention grunge scene. what am i missing???

harper: i've never been so i'm so excited

yuri: there is no universe that exists where i would say no to that

yuri: it's the first thing on my list tbh

harper: thank god someone is on my wavelength

cassidy: i did and all i could think about is the seattle sound. the home of where grunge rock was practically born. my icons, legends, loves

cassidy: we can go to the og starbucks. i think i've only been to starbucks when it's attached to like a target or some shit

harper: that sounds like something you'll have to explain to me in person

harper: that statement is just sad

james: well DUH... icarly's hometown

james: og starbucks???

james: i don't rlly drink coffee so i had no idea starbucks was apparently from seattle? the more u know...

harper: i'm ashamed i didn't realize

harper: lucky for u they have more than coffee :)

harper: did you see where our next stop is?

“Well I think you’re a gem. My plants would love you.”

“I have to warn you, my tote bag gets pretty full. But I’m sure the vegetables wouldn’t mind. I hope you like bell peppers and zucchini.”

"You’re going to inflate my ego, don’t you think? I appreciate you, friend.”

“Unfairly seems a bit of a stretch. But thank you.”

              it’ll  be  a  good  addition  to  the  ship  if  they  listen  to  harper’s  idea  .   if  they  are  to  dock  soon   ,   they  could  easily  buy  the  necessary  supplies  needed  for  it  .     ❛   i  sure  hope  they  do   !   surely  they  wouldn’t  mind  doing  that  especially  if  we’re  going  to  be  in  this  ship  for  some  time  .   ❜

“I just feel like I need enough people interested to even bring it up, you know?” Harper replied to them, quirking her head to the side slightly. “And I’m not sure how many people here are really into gardening or plants.”

“Should I be afraid?” Jude teased, scooting over to make room for Harper. His eyes widened behind his thick rimmed glasses at her suggestion. “Yes! That is the best fucking idea I have ever heard in my life! Of course it comes from your magical brain.” Jude was fully aware that he was shouting, but he couldn’t contain his excitement. He loved gardening and anything to do with nature.

“Never with me,” Harper responded, smirking. She settled into her seat next to the boy, grinning widely. “Well I wouldn’t say magical, though I am flattered. But I’m very excited about this idea. I just think it’s going to be hard to pass to the higher-ups, you know? It would be a really hard project to keep going, especially if not enough people are involved.” Harper couldn’t help herself rambling about something she was so interested in.

“Sometimes we must admit defeat for the best of the ecosystem,” he joked, “I don’t actually remember? I went to a local plant place and they honestly helped me with everything.” It had been a long time of countless lessons and money spent, buying everything that was absolutely necessary for it. “Just you know don’t let it die or the plant community will come after us.”

“For the best of the ecosystem. I like it.” She laughed lightly. “Well, that’s okay too. Really, I appreciate all of the effort you put into it. I like to think I’m a plant expert, but some people are much better.” Harper shrugged. It was her side passion, not quite what she put all of her time into but sometimes she wished she could. “I’ll try not to, but it might like you more than me now.”
