:: Upset the Established Order :: Batman & Harley Quinn ::
Ever since The Bat managed to defeat The Joker and lock him up in Arkham, Gotham had appeared less feral- or about as tame as it could be considering its reputation -and thus the established order resumed; but all good things come to an end.
Much to the Caped Crusaderâs dismay, The Clown Prince of Crime had returned to claim the city, and this time he had a sidekick at his disposal; one that was willing to do anything just to gain approval and praise from The Joker. At first glance, she seemed to be as wild a character as the man she followed so dotingly- which she undoubtedly was -but it would surprise anyone to learn that she was once a respected and conservative intern at Arkham Asylum; The Jokerâs psychiatrist gone psycho.
It only stood to prove how much sway The Clown had, and how easily he could tear the world asunder, one person at a time. If he wasnât recruiting them, he was killing them, or using them for a benefit of his own, and no matter how enthusiastic this new Harlequin seemed, she was still a victim. Albeit, a willing one.
Her mind was invaded and warped, little seeds planted with his cunning words, words that sprouted an incurable sickness; Harleen Quinzelâs view upon the world had altered drastically since they first met.
Having just broken out of Arkham, The Joker needed funds to play with, and what better place to make a withdrawal than Gotham City Bank? New to the scene, Harley Quinn was given a relatively easy enough task, something that she couldnât muck up, but working for The Joker was no walk in the park, and she was certainly being thrown into a crash test. The Joker would soon see if sheâd be a liability or an asset to the team.
Armed to the teeth, The Clown Prince sent his lackeys into motion with Harley leading the pack. Although she was petite and appeared frail beside such brawny men, the blonde wasnât deterred and carried a complete air of authority while assuming her duties. She was no damsel in distress.
Clad in a form fitting suit that clung to her curves and left little to the imagination, the Clown girl sauntered around the shaken hostages that were huddled pitifully upon the cold marble floor, a large revolver clutched tightly within her gloved hand, the piece waved about carelessly as she gestured through her words. âAlright, folks, listen up! Now, me anâ the boys here are gonna make a little withdrawal, anâ while thatâs happeninâ, I want everyone face down with their hands behind âem! Anâ if I see anyone tryna be a heroâŚâ Her voice was shrill, octaves higher than most women, and quite distinguishable; she doubted the victims would ever forget what she sounded like. But much like The Joker- who often spoke with an upbeat tone -they both took on sinister tenor when uttering threats. ââŚIâll blow ya brains out.â
Her vibrant gaze roamed over the room, painted lips tugging up in the corner to formulate a smug grin. âYâgot it?â The majority nodded meekly, clearly none of them would dare step out of line, and neither did the thugs that were bustling about all around the Harlequin as she spoke. Bags of cash were being hauled out one after the other, the sacks loaded into multiple vans in case one was unable to complete its trip; not all would be lost.
Things were drawing to a close, and Harley was eager to get back to The Jokerâs latest hide out so her Puddinâ could see what a good job she did. The thought of seeing that smile of his brought one to her lips as well. Distracted for a moment while she was ushering the boys to hasten their pace, one of the downed âhostagesâ was about to make a stupid mistake.
âCâmon, move it! I needed this done like yesterday!â The Clown Girl had her back turned, which is when a young, female civilian reached into her purse and pulled out a small handgun; which she ironically had only just learned how to shoot. The distance between the two left little room for mistake but amidst the chaos she panicked, her first shot narrowly missing Harleyâs arm, and causing her to fumble with the weapon once she saw the crazed Clown turn and look directly at her. Acting at the drop of a hat- or rather, the click of a hammer âthe Harlequin sprung into action, her nimble form cartwheeling once to the side before planting her feet and pushing off into a dive, her revolver drawn and shot in midair. Her aim was true; one of the large bullets connected with the girlâs wrist, the damage was explosive and left a mangled stub, effectively causing her to drop the pathetic little peashooter she held previously.
Tucking into a roll, The Clown Girlâs knee braced upon the hostageâs chest, while the barrel of her gun jabbed into her cheek. Effectively subduing the victim, she now towered over her with a look of malice in those bright blue eyes. âHeh, looks like yâdonât hear so good, do ya?â
She had no mercy, and would feel no remorse over snuffing out a life. With her finger on the trigger, her thumb pulled the hammer back, a loud âclickâ heard to resonate her last moments of life. By this point, the initial gunshot drew attention from a few of The Jokerâs lackeys, and they knew The Clown wouldnât appreciate it if his newest âprojectâ came back broken or injured; so they stood watch while she had her moment of fun. âWhat did I say âbout tryna be a hero, huh?â A sinister smirk fixed itself upon her lips as she began to squeeze the trigger; her point was about to be made.

Greetings and pardon my absence! I have been without wifi for a few days, and busy with RL things all in between, but do not mistake my presence for quitting! I simply love this group and will be back at it soon. If I can hop on and do some replies, I will. But it will be whenever I'm not too medicated, or simply well enough to do so. Heads up, I'm having surgery done in a couple weeks time, and my injury kinda has a hold on me, so do expect ups and downs. But I will always be here! Feel free to drop me a line to discuss future plots, I love musing aloud! Also, I haven't received the new chatzy password yet, is that up and running now? Somebody clue me in. Hope everyone is doing well! ^_^

Head Admin L and I have decided to properly reach a time, we wish for the players to reblog this telling what day(s) and time(s) they can make it for the movie night; then with majority, we will pick a day. Thank you!
I miss out on everything OOC! Gawd! but yeah, movie night sounds good! I'm pretty much available any time, but evenings would work best and be undisturbed for me. My timezone is GMT 6:00 Central US & Canada, and anytime after 8pm would work for me. Are we voting on the movie as well, or is Flashpoint a set decision? Am I getting that right? Flashpoint? But yeah, If we ever have multiple movie nights in the future, I think it'd be fun to have the group nominate possible movie choices, and then let 'em all vote! Oh, what fun!

*Snap!*
"No, my questions were answered." Joker said, a smile on his face. His arms were fidgeting in the jacket, and Joker finally blinked and looked her over. âActually-" Joker chuckled, sinisterly, "-this reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. Except I wonât eat you." Joker leaned forward, his arms still fidgeting and moving in the jacket. âEven though I bet you taste delicious."
*Snap!*
Another snap echoed behind him, the fabric of the jacket loosening around his arms. âBut now, tell me about yourself, Iâd love to know my doctor a little more, after all, I hope we will be seeing-"
*Snap!*
"-a lot of each other." Behind Jokers back, he was unbuckling the snaps on his back through the fabric. Before being placed in this straitjacket, he pinched the front while it was being placed on. This gave him about four inches of slack in the back.
He licked his lips again. âWhatâcha writing about?" Joker said, leaning precariously to one side, trying to catch a glance of what she was writing. âAnd is this my therapy or yours, cause arenât you supposed to be asking me th-"
He saw her mouth twitch in the shape of a smile.
*Snap!*
Two more to go. âWas that a smile, Doctor?" Joker asked, his pearly white smile behind the mask showing through the gaps and holes of the mask. âWhat are you smiling about?" He asked, charmingly. âWhat does a pretty girl like you smile about, hm? Oh, and who says I want to intimidate you? Maybe I want to be nice on our first date."
He said the final sentence with a slight purr in his voice. He wasnât barking or yelling or being vile, simply trying to gain her attention. He wanted her to pay attention to him. Sick as it made Joker feel, but he did feel something in his stomach for her. And if it wasnât the stomach it was close by. Maybe the intestines.
Harleenâs gaze was fixated on the Clown once more, vibrant blue irises roaming over the fidgeting man in front of her. Although most anyone would deduce he was up to something, she wasnât as skeptical and chalked it up to the fact that he probably wasnât able to sit still for long and didnât go on guard with his constant shifting, but she did keep an eye on him. She didnât trust him; which was logical considering who she was dealing with.
She disregarded his first comment, about how he was reminded of the fictional character âHannibalâ, and how he was certain âshe tasted deliciousâ. The blonde wasnât sure if he meant sheâd taste delicious in the sense that he had a Cannibalistic intent, or if it wasâŚanother means he had on the mind; either way, the very thought of either caused her to shift in her seat. It could have been interpreted as excitement or fear by that point, regardless, it was thrilling. âIâm sorry, Mr.Joker, but anything pertaining to me or my personal life is not up for discussion. Weâre here to talk about you. And Iâm only offering you the opportunity to voice your concerns with questions, but if you have none, then weâre free to proceed.â
As he craned to the side in an effort to read her writing, she turned the pad over and laid it in her lap; effectively obscuring his view, and she didnât doubt heâd have no trouble reading what was written, even if it was upside down. Many might have thought The Joker to be insane but she saw more to him and didnât doubt his intelligence for a minute. âIâm just taking some notes, nothing to concern yourself with.â
The smile that briefly flashed over her lips had dissipated, but not quick enough for the Clown, he made note of it instantly and even commented in the middle of another sentence he was trying to rattle off. âMany things make me smile, but once again, itâs nothing you need to concern yourself with.â Her response was a bit cold, and it was clear that she was withdrawn from his attempted charm.
A lone finger raised to push the bridge of her thick rimmed glassed up, though her gaze dropped to her writing once more. The young Doctor was completely oblivious to the fact that The Joker was slowly freeing himself; although his legs were still shackled in place, and removing them wouldnât be done as easily as he was undoing his strait jacket. Harleen sat unguarded and unarmed; her attention divided and leaving an opening for him to attack, but what he did with his one free shot would certainly pave the way for future interactions; and not to mention it would alter her view of him. As of right now, she was immune to his âcharmâ, and trusted him about as far as she could throw him. âNow, if youâre ready, shall we begin?â
:: Trouble From The Start || Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy ::
Ivy forced her eyes to remain trained upon the form before her.  She couldnât quite make out who it was or even what it was due to the smoldering ashes and smoke that was still coming from the rocketâs landing site not too far away from her. Green eyes narrowed slightly as the smoke began to dissipate from around them and a soft almost simpering voice uttered a confused âMistah Jâ from before her.  Mister J?  Ivy frowned as she grew more cautiously moved closer, the halo of green vines that stood at her back following her every movement.  "Mister J?  Who is that?" She asked harshly, but alas her question went unanswered as the girl fell into deep unconsciousness at her feet. Â
Frustration grew within the pale green body of the unstable meta human, as she stared at the battered body of the blonde laying at her feet.  She closed her eyes, reigning herself it.  This was not the time to allow herself to lose control of her still relatively new powers.  When she reopened them, the green was less dark and ferocious then it had been previously and as she looked at the raggedly breathing body at her feet she could not help but to feel something tug at her heat strings.  Something about this girl drew Ivy inâŚÂ
Letting out a sigh, the green skinned master of plants moved to a kneeling position examining the extent of the wounds the blonde had. There was a lot of bruises covering her body from what she could see under the torn clothing, though if her eyes were not deceiving her a vast majority of them were far older than what could have been caused today.  Some blood escaped the various cuts that littered her body, and Ivy noted that nothing seemed to be broken.  âI want answersâŚÂ â Ivy thought to herself as she stood up, not allowing herself to dwell upon the thought that she actually pitted the girl and waved a hand towards her plants. Â
The vines did as they knew she wanted, moving to pick up the battered body of the small clown and followed behind their mistress as she moved at a languid pace towards the large building beside the house.  Ivy pushed open the door, and walked over to the nearest table clearing off the surface from the various seeds and newspaper clippings. âPut her down⌠gently." She ordered verbally as she disappeared out of the room and down the hallway towards her makeshift lab.  Green hands scoured through vials and creams expertly once she made it to the desk sitting nearest the window and silently thanked her forethought in creating healing ointments before she found out she could heal herself fairly quickly under the right conditions. Â
Ivy grasped a large jar of neon green paste from the far side of the table as well as a clear liquid she kept in a large test tube. Â Stirring it around she nodded, taking the two naturally produced supplies back to the table where she left the blonde in the care of her mostly harmless plants. Â She paused at the doorway, her eyes gazing at the mostly nude form that lay upon the table for a moment a little awestruck at what the ridiculous outfit hid. Â
Shaking her head at those thoughts, Ivy berated herself for even daring to gaze at her body.  Not only was she helplessly unconscious but she seemed to be suffering from wounds that Ivy could almost guarantee came from some sort of abuse.  Moving closer she took off the lid of the paste, dipping her fingers into it and removing a generous amount of it to spread across the open wounds that were around her body, her ever helpful vines retrieving bandages and helping her move the girl like a rag doll should their mistress need it. The process of applying the paste, bandaging the clownâs body, and pouring the clear liquid down her throat to help with the pain she was surely going to feel took almost an hour.  It was worth it, as the blonde woman was finally looking remotely peaceful in her unconscious state.  Waving her hands at her vines she slowly watched as they picked up the woman and took her to the spare bedroom not far from her makeshift lab. Â
Now started the waiting game, for who could know when the little clown would wake up, though when she did - Ivy was going to get some of her questions answered either by force or willingly. Â For once in a very long time though, Ivy hopped that it was the latter.Â
Harley was fortunate not to feel the wrath of the Redhead- which was just as well since she had already been through a great deal at the hands of The Joker -and instead was treated with tenderness and fostered with a sense of motherly care. From the moment the blonde went unconscious, her mind was riddled with thoughts of The Clown Prince of Crime, and what had taken place over the past couple of days.
 Flashbacks.
To be honest, Harley wasnât sure what had set him off. Normally she knew how to push his buttons, and when to stop, but the Clown lashed out unpredictably this time; albeit he was always unpredictable, but this time was different.
âHARLEY?!â The sudden booming echo of The Jokerâs voice made her flinch violently. She had been tiptoeing around him lately, but it seems his attention was finally set in her direction. Not good. Her breathing immediately began to come in quick pants, her vibrant hues glanced around in a beady fashion as panic seeped its way throughout her entire being. âY-Yes, Puddinâ?â The Clown girl reluctantly replied, her lithe form clad in her signature suit as she slowly shuffled out into the hallway, her gaze dropped low as he approached.
The Joker didnât even bother to tell her what she had done, he merely called out as a means to locate her within the large warehouse, and as soon as he did, he zeroed in on her. A gloved hand sailed through the air and struck the side of her face, an instant flash of light blaring behind her eyelids as they squinted shut. She may have been one tough cookie, but she broke like a china doll whenever he lashed out at her; which happened more than ever lately. The various bruises she had accumulated over her body were covered by the sheer fabric of her one piece suit, but there was still pain beneath it and whenever he touched her. âIâm sorry!â She didnât even know what she was apologizing for, but whatever she did; she was sorry.
All abused women would rationalize their beatings, find some wrong in their ways and automatically take the blame, even if they werenât to blame at all.
Without warning, the Harlequin flinched awake, her eyes wide with  the fear of her current mindset, her petite form curling away and bracing for another blow. But it never came.
Slowly, she calmed down, but Harley was still quite confused as to where she was. Rapidly, she took in her surroundings, and the confusion only doubled. All around her was plant life and none like she had ever seen. Vines encompassed most of the space and brought forth a wild look; feral. She was reminded of a jungle, and the building seemed to have been claimed by it. Rather than making herself known, she got to her feet silently and slinked forward in silence as she made her way out of the room. She didnât think it wise to call out to the unknown- although sneaking up on it wasnât any better âbut what other choice did she have? She didnât know where she was, or who was there with her, and defense was her first instinct.
One thing Harley failed to pay attention to was the fact that whoever had placed her where she was, took the time and care to bandage her up, and she couldn't deny she was feeling better than ever. Nearly all her old injuries seemed to dissipate, and it left her wondering just how long she had been out, and who cared enough to help her out like that. The first name that came to mind, was the first one she called out for; stupidly. "Mistah J?"

They wheeled him in through the double doors of Gothamâs newly renovated Arkham Asylum. His green eyes darted between all the doctors and security officers, watching him as he was carted down. He licked his lips in his face mask. He looked at several male doctors, writing down notes as he was carted down.
"Have the lambs stopped screaming, doctors?" Joker said, mimicking Hannibal Lector. He then began to cackle, struggling in his straight-jacket.
"Quiet you!" said one of the security officers, taking him to his psych evaluation.
"Oh! Someones feeling a little brave, huh?" Joker said, his eyes now locking on the back of that officers head. âIâll be seeing you in two weeks." He then began to giggle. âYouâll also be seeing your own intestines in your hands! I broke out once, what makes you think I wonât break out again?!" He began to cackle sadistically as he was brought into a large white room.
Inside the room was a stainless steel table, a tape recorder, and a chair. Joker was carted into the other side of the table, opposite the chair. He was then parked and the security officers left his sides. He smiled as she came in, not saying a word. Not even eyeing her over, just simply looking into her eyes.
An enormous smile coming over his face.
Harleen had spent the better part of a week preparing herself for her newest case- one she was still surprised she was assigned to âand felt she was mentally prepared for the task. Many nights leading up to their first encounter, the young intern had been reading over The Clownâs previous case files, and the countless incidents that ensued during his âsessionsâ. The Joker acted out in more ways than one, and most times it was an utterly violent experience for everyone involved. Despite the trepidation of meeting face to face with such a man- one whom she was meant to âtreatâ âDr.Quinzel was also determined to exceed where others have failed; especially since she knew there was controversy going around the water cooler about her impeding Failure. Sheâd show them all.
At long last, it was time to meet the notorious Clown Prince of Crime, and despite her nerves being on end, Harleen couldnât deny the excitement that she felt building within her. She found an odd sort of thrill with the thought of being locked in a room with The Joker, albeit the countless safety precautions taken to ensure her survival of the encounter. The madman wasnât only bound in a straitjacket, he was also secured to the very chair he was sat upon, and that chair was bolted to the floor. A panic button was also hidden with the Doctor, just incase. You could never be too careful in situations like this.
There was no escaping or wiggling free on his part; no tricks hidden up his sleeve. He was at his weakest, essentially, but even a caged tiger is dangerous, and anyone would feel intimidated to be thrown in with one.  Her fear was reconfirmed when she felt his eyes upon her as she entered the room, his piercing gaze fixated and silently watching like a predator sizing up its prey before it pounced.
With a deep breath, Harleen situated herself across from the Clown, her vibrant blue gaze daring to match his own. It probably wasnât wise to issue such a challenge; it was much like two territorial dogs making eye contact and staring each other down, it was a silent dare between both parties; only in this case, The Joker couldnât do a thing to assert his Dominance. The blonde put on a good poker face, any possible fear she held previously was currently masked behind a professional façade.
Considering this was a preliminary meeting, there wasnât much needed except a lone tape recorder; which was switched on before she even uttered a word. âGood morning, Mr.Joker, Iâm Dr.Quinzel and Iâll be your new psychiatrist. Before we begin, do you have any questions?â Despite carrying a complete air of authority towards The Joker, Harleen also offered common courtesy, which was naturally given despite who she was dealing with.
Joker shifted his position in the chair, only slightly. His legs were cuffed to the chair he now sat on, which was bolted down to the white tile on the ground. He looked at her, though his eye contact with her never broke. She was obviously one for order, a clean freak some would say. He wouldnât say that, in fact he liked her getup. Her hair was up in a bun, she had glasses which had the most gorgeous set of blue eyes he had ever seen behind the lens.
She wore the usual pencil skirt and dress shirt, along with a doctors coat. A name tag showed. Harleen. Interesting. He licked his lips, his taste familiar with the face paint that usually dawned his lips. However, it was all wiped up before he got here. He was brought back here by the police after his attack at Gotham Better Health in the business plaza.Â
He, honestly, didnât know how to feel without his make-up. He didnât just not feel like himself, but he felt naked without it. But he knew, wholeheartedly, that heâd once again wear the face paint and cause chaos again sooner rather than later.
His gaze continued, unblinking, as she sat down to talk to him. Such a lovely voice. He felt some sort of strange, sadistic attraction towards this woman. Not âloveâ a normal person would feel, because Joker is no normal person. No, he felt something similar, but more-
Sinister.
"Just one dear-" Joker said, a smile forming behind the face mask he wore, "-why is it they send their prettiest and smartest lady doctor to see little olâ me? One whose file said, âInsane, unpredictable, and a total lost cause for rehabilitation.â?" Joker, paused for a few seconds to think, then leaned in as far as his restraints would let him.
"Unless, unless youâre not their brightest doctor. Oh no no no no, they gave you to me to keep you busy while the other doctors work on moreâŚproductive and important cases." He chuckled to himself. His eyes didnât blink. He only kept staring. âWhat do they really think of you? That youâre a failure? A waste of time, like me?" He laughed, âItâs sad really. You know? How they take people like us for granted?"
He leaned back. âDonât answer those, those werenât my questions. The first one I worked that one out myself, and the others, well, you donât need to be sane to know the answer to those ones! No, my question is one that seems from your prospective necessary and from mine a waste of time and effort: Why restrain me?" Joker asked, hissing through the holes in his face mask.
âThatâs my question."
As Joker spoke, Harleen reclined into a more comfortable position, one leg crossing over the other, her gaze still fixed upon his own unblinking stare. She didnât try to stop his banter; she let him have his say, and even cracked a small smile as he worked out the answers on his own. He was quite accurate on the front that her coworkers didnât have faith in her, and everyone including Jeremiah Arkham expected her to fail. But it was that that kept the young Doctor going, she had unshakable determination and wasnât going to be deterred by anyone; not even The Joker.
His jab at her not being the brightest caused her smile to falter. Those bright blue eyes narrowed as she leaned in, head tilting to the side as she was finally given room to speak. âWhy, you ask?â She broke their little staring contest only to roam her gaze over his form, which was restrained in every way imaginable, right down to the mask that was strapped in place. âI didnât peg you for being a simpleton, Mr.Joker, I think you know the answer to that.â
She spoke frankly as she stated facts, and a bit cold considering her initial welcome. âYou have a history of violence and have been known to lash out unpredictably with your doctors and even fellow patients. Bottom line is, you canât be trusted.â She reclined once more, her vibrant hues fixed upon his dark ones yet again. âBut maybe if you do well in these sessions, and prove you can be rehabilitatedâŚâ She gestured towards him and his restraints. ââŚthen perhaps I can do something about granting you a bit ofâŚleeway.â
Despite this being a preliminary meeting, Harleen wanted some notes of her own; something she wouldnât have to hand into Jeremiah. The blonde reached into her lab coat and pulled out a small pad of paper and a pen, her gaze dropping as she jotted down some quick notes. âNow, is there anything else youâd like to ask or know before we continue?â She didnât even bother to look up as she spoke, her attention was purposely revoked as she wrote; she knew he was a man that thrived on attention.
âKeep in mind, our sessions are limited in time, so I wouldnât waste it trying to intimidate me.â Harleen was blunt in her last utterance, her stare raising to look upon him once more; all business. She knew it wasnât wise to essentially tell such a man what to do; or to make any comment towards his actions, since it would only serve as a means of encouragement if he knew she saw it as intimidation.
Dr.Quinzel had seen many photos of The Joker, and seen many video clips in the news. He was always dressed immaculately, save for the messy greasepaint upon his marred features. Now that she was seeing him without it, she couldnât deny he was a handsome man; maybe even more handsome with his former get up. She found herself laughing on the inside at the thought of preferring the âwildâ look he once donned, but she was certain anyone would think it was preferable over his current attire.
The bright orange, standard issue, Arkham scrubs were hardly appealing to look at, and now that his face had been wiped clean, she could see him more clearly; or at least as much as the mask he wore allowed her to. She found herself wishing he didnât have it on. She was curious about those scars, and heâd probably be more than obliged to tell her âhow he got them.â Oh, the irony. Another bit of laughter was stifled, she didnât know what was coming over her at the moment, but remaining professional in the face of the man was harder than it should have been.

But, uh, let's try this again. Hello, everyone! Hope you're all well, if anyone cares to discuss a thread, drop me a line, I'm open to anything and I'd love to hear from you. Trouble From The Start || Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy
The damp smell of organic fertilizer clung to the air within a large perceptively innocent greenhouse in the outskirts of Gotham. Rosemary grew near the northern entrance itâs scent overpowering most of the other planted herbs strategically placed all around in an inviting way created a winding path as to give visitors a tour. If one followed it they would reach the generic plant life that most flower gardens -geraniums, poppies, roses of every shade, tiger lilies, juniper bushes, dragon tongues and more - though they were oddly larger and more beautiful than what was normally seen. These plants seemed to vibrate with energy as the stood erect and reaching towards the roof of the green house as if wanting to grow to reach the very ceiling, perhaps they were.
Those plants continued to create a spiraling path through the intricately designed greenhouse until the scenery changed from larger than normal garden plants to something that would have made more sense to have been in a rainforest and not contained in a simple buildings. Even the floor beneath ones feet had changed from carefully manicured grass or dirt to thick green vines that would catch the unwary in their grasp. It could literally become a battle to continue forth to the center of the greenhouse for those with the patience to do so. Vines with short needle like thorns were draped camouflaged behind huge leafy plants, larger Venus fly traps loomed overhead ready to ensnare the unwary within its grasps hungry for the taste of whomever dared pass, perceptively innocent, colorful flowers grew between the vines littering the floor their sweet smell luring the unexpected to touch them and die a slow painful death once their toxins seeped through the skin. Yes, it was truly the definition of beautiful and deadly, but the true beauty was seen after one made it to the heart of it all⌠If they did that is.
Large mutated plants swayed in the humid and misty biochemical lab within the center, where various seeds were strewn about systematically with beakers filled with oddly colored liquid ranging from blood red to glistening gold. A Bunsen burner sat on the center of the table with a blue liquid contained in a flask coming to a slow boil above the flame ⌠It was seemingly unattended until one looked closer at the late knot of vines in the near by corner.
Flaming red hair draped over a pale green shoulder and framed a young and beautiful face. Plump red lips glistened more from the excreting toxins than the wet heat surrounding her,and emerald green eyes watched the bubbling brew carefully. It was almost time to introduce the new concoction to her seedlings. Pamela Isley - or more commonly know recently as Poison Ivy- stood from her leafy green throne within the lab and sauntered over to the table. Turning the burner off with a simple flick of her wrist, Ivy pulled a small dish with seeds in it over spreading them out evenly inside.
Once she had made the three rows of five seeds each, the green woman grabbed the flask with the lab tongs swirling the liquid in a clockwise fashion six times and then twice in a counterclockwise fashion. âGoodâŚ" Ivy said softly, her seductive voice muted behind a veil of concentration.
Moving to tilt the mixture carefully in the plants, Ivy was interrupted by a loud crash and boom happening just outside of her greenhouse in the direction of her actual home. The grip on her tongs lessened, the mixture falling and shattering upon impact before she could react. Cursing, she steadied herself and trudged over to the large foliage blocking the southern door and moved them without so much as a flick of her wrist the plants able to sense her violent mood. Even they knew better than to bother her while she was experimenting with the seedlings. There was one thing for sure, whomever was behind the disturbance would pay⌠Dearly.
Opening the door, she sniffed the air frowning as the thick smell of smoke entered her nose. âThere had better not be a fireâŚâ Ivy hissed summoning a few of her vines to follow her as she walked towards the impact sight. Stopping right at the edge of the disaster zone, which thankfully missed her pale pink automobile and her home by feet, she paused upon hearing a moan of pain and messy blonde hair filled with shrapnel and dirt. What the hell was this she wondered to herself, her children hovering in an menacing arc around, every other vine brandishing its needle like thorns at the mass awaiting their mistressâ command.
"Who the hell are you and what are you doing on my land?" Ivy hissed out coldly her red pheromones coming out in response to her anger and confusion - something sheâd need to learn to control a bit better in the future.
Dazed and confused, Harley woke with a dull throbbing in her head, her limbs immovable and seemingly secured in place. Vibrant blue irises fluttered open, her vision slightly blurred at first but regained after a moment, and soon she focused in on her surroundings. She was outside, that much was certain. The ground was riddled with broken cinderblocks, metal beams and rusty nails; an old construction zone. Patches of dead grass attempted to grow in the dry earth, but nothing else seemed to flourish in such a place. Harley looked down and found that her entire form was secured by thick rope, and upon further inspection, the cold metal at her back was the making of a large rocket. Realization hit.
âOh, look whoâs awake.â Joker seemed to appear out of nowhere, his form clad in his signature suit, that notorious grin playing on his lips as he strode forward. Harleyâs gaze dropped, she couldnât look at him. Tears welled up of their own accord, but she refused to let them fall. âYâhave a nice nap, Harls?â A gloved hand roughly patted at her cheek before gripping at her chin and forcing her to look at him. âYâknow, Iâve been thinkinâ...â His stare was cold, but his tone suggested humor. ââŚI think we need to take a little break. Give us both some space. Expand our horizons. Test the waters.â He was sarcastic in his little speech, and purposely threw out overused lines. "Itâs not you...â He released his hold and straightened out, a purple gloved hand cupping over his chest as he shook his head, a mock form of regret playing on his features.â...itâs me. â
Harley didnât know what to say, all she felt was a sense of utter abandonment seeping in. Her breathing was shaky and rapid; she was beginning to panic.
âAh, who am I kiddinâ. Itâs you.â Without warning, Joker pressed down on a detonator, the switch creating an immediate response from the rocket Harley was strapped to. With a violent surge of force, the clown girl was whisked away, the last thing she saw was The Jokerâs fading image, and his only farewell was an over enthusiastic wave.
She was completely helpless; no one to save her; no way to escape her current predicament. But despite the fear that she Should have been feeling, she was still lost in the moment passed; heartbroken from the Clownâs rejection. Any sane person would have been screaming their head off. But Harley was utterly silent, tears falling freely now that he wasnât there to look upon her. âWhy?â She asked silently, before gathering her wits and a sense of rage overcame her.
Luckily, flames from beneath the rocket had burnt through the rope near her feet and gave her room to wiggle the ties enough to loosen them, bit by bit. The ground was nearing fast, and Harley would be damned if it was going to end this way.
Moving quickly, Harleyâs lithe form squirmed until she had enough leeway to turn around. Gloved hands gripped at the sides of the heated rocket, essentially holding on for dear life as it neared impact. Moments before it hit the ground, she jumped. The ground she landed on was soft and plush; grass, but the area in which the rocket landed was torn asunder, and Harley was still near enough to be affected by the damage. Her suit was torn in various places, her cowl all but gone. She lay near the crater of impact, dirty, bloody and broken. In more ways than one.
The Clown Girl didnât meet the demise Joker had in mind for her- and would likely be surprised to see she even survived such an ordeal âbut she was still quite battered, and nowhere near coherent enough to rightfully respond to the livid Red head who came upon her. Little did she know she landed right in Poison Ivyâs territory. Â Her bright blue eyes seemed duller as they settled on the woman above her, squinting slightly. âMistah J?â Was the only thing she uttered in her dazed stupor. Despite what he had done to her, he was still the first thing on her mind. Typical Harley. Slowly, black paint smeared lids closed, leaving an unconscious Harley for Ivy to deal with. Â
Why do you insist on staying with the Joker despite everything he does?
"No one'll ever understand The Joker like I do. I love my Puddin' more than I love myself. I'd die just to see that smile of his. I stay because I choose to. Mistah J can do no wrong!"
