This would be easier if it were a joke. It would be easier             to not watch his darling cry, to watch her burst out with             an anguished yet amused laugh. Oh fuck, how it hurt             to watch her cry.          She shakes her head, shakes and shakes          as tears drip down her flushed cheeks. It          isn't fair. It's never fair to lose someone you          love, especially a parent, and she doesn't          care to think that maybe, just maybe, she's          lucky. Her own mother was orphaned as a          child.
                But she isn't her mother.                 And she doesn't want to                 lose her father.
