If, according to Will, El keeping a book of letters for 6 months is a sign of her affection for Mike, then what is Mike keeping a book of drawings for 10+ years and displaying them in every room he inhabits in his house?

This book moved from the basement to under his bed after the Byers left for CA

Mike likes receiving presents…

Will knows this about him.

Mike brought El a "present" in California, dead flowers that were a '70/30' split according to him, 70% of which were Will's favorite color yellow (oh, michael)

Will‘s Mike is not El’s Mike. She got letters, so Will expected letters. And yet this is what Will had to say to Mike in his own letter to him...

“Why is writing letters so hard? Talking to you is always easy. I guess because a letter isn’t like a real conversation. I have to say a whole bunch of stuff and then wait weeks to hear your reply. It’s like a conversation between two people who have both been hit with a slow spell.”

Mike wanted to talk to Will on the phone for this exact reason. Not El, not through Cerebro, he wanted to get through the Byers' landline...

Mike likes getting presents ✅ Will makes him presents

Will likes feeling cared for ✅ Mike makes Will feel cared for

El likes words of affirmation, verbal reminders she’s loved and belongs ❌ Mike couldn’t say he loved her and he couldn’t convince her he doesn’t see her as a monster

Mike didn't send letters because this is the kind of thing he wanted to say to his friend who also happens to live in the same house as his girlfriend, and he recognized on some level that it was intimate and maybe not strictly platonic...

It’s not a big surprise he didn't want to put that sentiment in writing to Will when he couldn't even sign his letters to his girlfriend with Love, Mike. But as soon as he realized El had left for Nina, he was willing and able to come sit on his bed and open up to him. It makes sense honestly, this energy is the baseline of Mike's affection for Will, so how would you write this into a letter as a sixteen year old without sounding sus?

The finale of season 4 and 5 parallel each other in ways that are just extreme, at least if you time it correctly. They are literally the same episode and give us so much information. No way in the world that that’s a coincidence! Take a look yourself, you can watch them side-by-side here:

(I left the other parts out of the video btw and I recommend skipping to 02:30 since the Russian subtitles aren’t working in the first scene).

I'll give you detailed analysis soon, but for now these are the main facts I could figure out:

“The Piggyback” and “The Rightside Up” happen at the same time, on the same day in some kind of way. (meaning the time travel already happened - we did it by going back to season 4)

“The Rightside Up” is the movie Max and Lucas wanted to watch. (explains why the episode was shown in theaters and why there were no names in the intro)

They open the water tank in the Upside Down just as Jonathan starts to stir the water in the freezer to prepare it for El. The Upside Down has no water, so what if they were never there?

The heart-to-heart talk between Will and Jonathan is also fitting for El and Hopper, who have their heart-to-heart moment in silence.

The “best friends” tower scene was between Mike and El, not Will. It was Mike saying sorry to El for everything that happened. (Mike’s equals the pineapple pizza).

Around the time El is searching Max in her mind in season 4, El and Kali greet her in the black void in season 5. That was the real piggyback. (explains why Max was confused about being in El’s mind and not Vecna’s - she never knew about their plan; also Max’ outfit is very similar)

In season 4 Max thinks about good memories, the words here are: “turn around, look at what you see” - which is exactly what the characters at the Squawk tower are doing. And then it's just “Hi” when Mike looks at Will for a second.

The Squawk tower colliding with the Abyss (and the beat of the drums in the play) align perfectly with Eddie’s concert. Dustin wears the same outfit in both; rhythm, lights and words are fitting. (really can recommend watching this one!)

The particles are “the Shadow” that went into the kids. That’s why they disappeared suddenly, but it also means that chopping “Vecna’s” head off did no harm to it.

Children are somehow connected to the origin of the demogorgons. Either the demo’s final form is really human or it’s the other way around - the demo’s are created out of children. The Shadow was also in Will and he was like a host for Dustin’s pet, so maybe the other children are hosts, too. I can be wrong about this, but the escaping children and escaping demos parallel too much for meaning nothing in my opinion.

When Max in Camazotz says Vecna went back to the real world, Jason appears behind Lucas in the attic. (maybe Lucas was having a vision here too) During their fight Vecna was attacking Hopper in the Upside Down.

Joyce wouldn’t let El die.

Before Vecna connected with Henry he was the stone in the suitcase in the cave and connected to the scientist there in some way. Vecna was also close to dying here. (Henry is highly paralleling El in this)

Vecna does not want you to remember traumatic events in your past, the word “doctor” is important. (Doctor Brenner wanted to restore El’s traumatic memories and help Henry)

It was always Vecna, never Henry. (You can read more about the last 3 points here.)

El fighting Vecna in her mind from the pizza store and El fighting Vecna in the Abyss are the same scene, the same fight. Yes, she had to hear Mike’s “love confession” during that shitty final battle, it can’t get worse at this point. (During his own speech the season 5 Mike said that hurting the mindflayer hurts Vecna, so maybe he was hurting someone connected to the mindflayer on purpose here? maybe wishful thinking, maybe not...)

When El and Mike were talking in the black void at the end of season 5, El was directly referring to his speech, it was her first chance to talk to him after. He was touching her arm at the pizza store, that’s why they were able to talk at all. El was leaving to save Max. We never saw her wake up. (El vanishing in season 5 equals the “Leaving Hawkins” sign in season 4; I also think that was the Mileven breakup)

Since both fights were the same, that means they killed Vecna only once. (this has a lot of visual parallels like double-sided nosebleed, Vecna falling, flamethrowers, ...)

The epilogue has parallels, too, but I wasn't able to gain much information out of it till now. Except - Mike came out to Karen and that's why he ran away, I guess? (he's paralleled to Robin)

I will give you closer details about this as soon as possible, but for now I need people to see this, to look out for connections between episodes. Maybe there are more episodes like this, maybe there are patterns to find them. I found this one by accident, I'm not quite sure if that was supposed to even happen.

And yes, of course there still are scenes that just don't fit, and not everything makes completely, but these are like 2 hours uncut and the parallels won't stop coming. It feels like a new episode, a new truth - and trust me, it still feels wrong for me to say this, but "The Rightside Up" is amazingly well directed.

(Yeah, I did't knew where to include these, but they are too good to not share them.)

Yeah, I've been silent for a while now, but that doesn't mean, that I ditched the project. I've been veeeeeery productive the whole time.

So, to explain what I've done exactly, let me show it to you, using the first scene:

As you see, it's a Scene on Scene Sync, showing two timelines at the same time. The fun part? They're both Season 5 and the whole thing is 9 ½ hours long.

Yes, it works. Not every single scene of course, but many do and I've got crazy bits of information out of them and made completely new connections.

I know, it can be overwhelming at first, so let's take a look on the first scene together.

▶ Death & the Wormhole

The timeline on top shows us Season 5 as we know it, start to end. We begin with the flashback of November 12th, 1983, seeing what happened to Will in the Upside Down on that day.

In the timeline below we start during "Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz" (~ 1:30min). We see Mr Clarke getting woken up by Erica and Murray, followed by the collapsing of the Upside Down (after Nancy shot the orb).

The first thing I caught was how similar Will and Mr Clarke are dressed. Their expression as Will notices he's in danger and Mr Clarke hears that Dustin is in danger are almost identical.

Will shot the Demo attacking him. Shortly after Dustin says: "Nancy just shot it (the orb)," actively pointing at Will!

Right afterwards Will looks down at Nancy and Jonathan, lying knocked out on the floor. Both scenes are having red light(n)ing.

Will's fall from the tree gets stopped by his backpack and El asks: "Why'd it stop?" And as Will actually crashes to the ground Dustin's answering the question what's on the other side of the wall. "Death." (In case you don't remember, Hopper had to give Will CPR after finding him in the Upside Down, so yeah, he probably actually died here.)

Right after Will gets dragged away, just as the gravestones are blown away, both happening in the Upside Down. Vecna appears as a gate opens for El, Kali and Hopper.

The next sequence actually gave me the goosies. It shows the vine connected to Will and the wormhole from the outside - and they look identical.

Afterwards we get the opening in both timelines.

Season 5 is a time loop

During this version we see every episode happen twice: once in the timeline above and once in the timeline below, giving us a different context each time.

But there's one exception and that's episode 6. The episode Shawn Levy said about that it would be impossible to direct. We see scenes from it at 3 different times: the beginning, the middle part and the ending. It's split, connecting the beginning to the ending and making a gigantic time loop out of it - a cycle.

In case you wonder - 'why would anyone actually get the idea to connect this?' - Max told us to.

She gave us the instructions: Max followed her memories backwards, leading to new memories, until she reached the memory of the day that she died.

That's what I did. I started with the last episode, syncing the season backwards, unlocking new contexts and information and ended right at the beginning: the day that Will died. (Actually I did this by accident, but that sounds far less interesting, so who cares.)

And now I have this giant, 9 ½ hours long maze of memories, that I'm discovering right now.

Next post I'll start right with the good part: the Byler storyline. After hours of analyzing I can read Mike's mind by now, for real. And let me give you one hint: Byler kiss belongs to the less crazy half of evidence I've got. (〜￣▽￣)〜

And I have more interesting finds, such as Creelby lettergate or Max as the monster.

Nancy gives Mike a flare gun.

A flare is a type of pyrotechnic that produces a bright light or intense heat without an explosion. Flares are used for distress signaling... x

Flare gun = another version of a code red and signalling.

Mike doesn't understand why and asks what he's going to do with a flare gun.

But then he answers his own question immediately afterwards.

The funny thing is that one definition of "Tammy" is "twin".

So in a weird way, Will is saying Mike is just like him. Right after he says he's not like him.
