Happy Watson

-One day you decided “Hey, since I’m stuck inside all the time maybe I should go have a beach-day!”

-Packing your bag full of sunscreen, a towel, etc., you hear the news.

- “This just end, a merman has been spotted near LA Beach, news officials are on their way now to see if they could catch a glimpse of what kind of creature is lurking beneath the waves of our--” before she could say more, you turn it off. “No more bullshit until I come back, TV!” you yelled, finishing packing and heading for the door.

- Arriving at the beach, you see the news crew with their cameras pointed at the ocean, a few people gathering behind them to see. 

- “People are crazy..” you mumble, continuing your drive. Finally finding a spot where no one is talking about this “mermaid” or trying to catch videos of this “thing”, you spread out your towel, apply sunscreen, and set up the umbrella

-After an hour, you hear a splash. “What the hell, I thought I got a quiet place to relax??!” you told yourself, sitting up.

-As you sat up, what you saw.....let’s just say you looked as if your eye sockets were about to pop.

-”N..N-no way....” you mumbled, the human-tailed thing turning around and looking straight at you. 

- “Please don’t tell me you’re with that news crew..?” he questioned what he said, “No...no I'm not...” answering him back. He sighed with relief, “I’m Tyler”

-”Y/n, nice to meet you....so um...” You didn’t know what to say. ‘What do you even say to someone who’s probably not even from this earth? or what if they are? Do they talk to fish underneath the water? What do they do underwater??’ You asked yourself, unsure of what to ask first.

-”Don’t sweat it, you don’t have to say anything!” He smiled, damn that gorgeous fucking smile...

-”So it’s obviously not safe here...where were you thinking of going?” You asked, he just shrugged his shoulders and looked across the ocean.

-”Maybe you could come with me” the words just slipped out of your mouth. “I-I mean you probably wouldn’t even like it but I have a pool but still---” “sure, anything to get away from these....idiotic people” he turned to you. 

 Now how do you get him in the car without him dying in the back seat??

““Mark!’ I called out to my childhood friend, “come here!!”   “Coming!!” he yelled back, I could hear him walking towards the room.

Opening the door, he looked at me, then the book in my hand. Immediately a huge smile forms on his face. “Is that.....---” “The yearbook I had from when we were 7? Yep!’ I hummed, scooting over and patting the place right next to me.

 As he sat down, I opened the book, there in bold letters were “FOR Y/N, DO NOT TOUCH!” Letting out a giggle, I flipped to the next page.

 “Oh my god!!” I exclaimed, pointing to little 1-year-old me. “Haha, you look so cute I cold just pinch those little baby cheeks!!” Mark says, we share a laugh. 

We start flipping through the pages, “Hey Mark, that’s us...” I stare at the picture of 7-year old Mark and I. The first day we met, it was December Sixteenth, you could see the snow slowly starting to cover the lens. In the back, snow slowly poured onto us as we smiled for the picture. “God I miss those days.” “Let’s keep going, don’t get so sad just yet!” Mark put on a smile.

 We flipped through so many pages, like when we were 16! There was a printed-out selfie. we were going through a “rebellious-phase” and that’s when we both snuck out together to go explore the city. That was amazing, seeing the cafe and exploring the underground subway. It’s where we had our first kiss.

 There was another, we were 18 and He had just turned 19. He was blowing out candles on a cupcake as I clapped in the background. His mom and dad were next to him, and all his friends were all surrounding him. That was pretty cool, too.

“Well...that’s the end of the book...” I said, closing it. “What do we do now?”

 “How about we be the 18 year olds we were back then?”

And so, we built a pillow fort and read horror stories. In the end, I ended up falling asleep and so did he. As I drifted off, he said something that’ll be stuck in my mind for a while. “Y/N, I love you. I love you so much, beyond anything in the entire world. I’d do anything for you, sleep well.”

“Tyler!” I called out, “What’s up?” he said back, walking into the kitchen. “Can you come help me set up the lights?” I asked, “Sure thing” he replied. 

 We were outside when we heard Ethan and Mark playing inside, “Ethan hurry up and put on your boots!! It’s snowing!!!!” Mark sounded as happy as a child at an amusement park, it was adorable. They both came running out of the house, dressed from head to toe in the warmth of scarfs and gloves. I smiled, looking at them. “Looks like we got a blue boy running in the snow!” I said, climbing off the ladder and looking at Tyler and I’s work. “YEAH YOU DO!!” He yelled, running away from Mark as Mark chased him in the snow. 

 “Tyler I’m going take a break and put the mistletoe near the kitchen door, could you handle the rest of the lights out here?” I asked, “Yup!”

I grabbed the boxes labeled “CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS” written in Kathryn’s handwriting, taking out the mistletoe. Looking around, I found the small ladder and grabbed it, putting it into place and climbing it. Reaching the top, I took a piece of tape and taped the mistletoe onto the top.

 Climbing down, I moved the ladder aside. As I looked up, I felt hands wrap around my waist and a chin wrest on my shoulder. “Ethan?” I asked, I heard a little “ya” mumbled, and I gave a light giggle. Turning around slowly, I grabbed his hands and guided him underneath the mistletoe. “You know what this means, hmm?” he nodded with a smirk. Without a second thought, he pulls me into a long, soft kiss. 

 Pulling away, we slowly open our eyes and smile. “We should hang up the rest of the mistletoe together”
