Happily Ever Apartment

I haven’t spoken much in detail what it is I do for my 9-5. However, it is honestly no longer appropriate, and embarrassing really, to have my personal blog on Tumblr. I have used Tumblr for several years and it has been easy.

I recently found a plugin that will transition this blog to WordPress. The last time I tried, the theme layout and blog post options were difficult to maneuver outside of merely going directly to the code which I’m not necessarily looking to do right now.

My sweet, sweet boy; who is now asleep in my arms as I finish Zootopia that we started about an hour ago. He is up to 8oz of milk broken by oatmeal and fruits or scrambled eggs for breakfast, either mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes or butternut squash for lunch, and rice and beans for dinner.

Today, my husband woke up rather early, we watched Groundhog Day as a family, and I watched the adoration in my son’s bouncy laughter as he encouraged my husband to play and kiss him. Their relationship is so beautiful and truly has me falling in love each day.

We went to the library where we read several colorful books and grocery shopping where we bought more fresh, organic fruits and veggies for snacks and meals.

Why do babies fight sleep? When I’m tired, I go to sleep. I could be absolutely anywhere and fall asleep. I once fell asleep on a diving board.

Ah, he is now finally asleep. Limbs are limp, lips are pursed, lashes are gloriously long. How beautifully soft his skin feels and how tiny he still is on my chest.

I asked my mother-in-law if he looked more like my husband today. He still looks like his mama. Dark hair, dark almond eyes, long dark lashes, puckered lips, and a button nose. He shares his papa’s facial expressions and his personality traits resemble my husband but he’s this mama’s bear cub.

This past week was very busy. This three day weekend is a necessity to my emotional well being, if we’re being completely honest. I have spent so much time at work that I feel I haven’t seen my son’s face enough. I haven’t smelled the back of his neck enough. 

He has started making this adorable sound that makes it appear he's speaking a completely new language. I say this as he yells at me in his foreign baby language as he tries to type on the laptop. 

Yesterday, we went shopping. Victoria’s Secret, Game Stop, Tj Maxx, Dinner at Chili’s where Harvey ate a whole bowl of mashed potatoes, and Hobby Lobby. Out of it all, I’m most excited about a pair of embroidered jeans and a black baseball cap that I’m going to craft with a giant poof ball. I’ll post pictures later.

We took a day trip to Sedona, Arizona yesterday. We took the Yaris. What a smooth ride! I cannot believe how quick that tiny car is. We handled the mountains well, surprisingly better than our Tacoma. 

It was Harvey’s first road trip, as well. He slept the entire way there, even with the pit stop we made at Montezuma Castle National Monument. I am so glad that he didn’t have to feel the change in altitude, which he did feel on the way home.

We had been told that we would no longer be able to do a lot of the things we did before having our son. However, we refused to accept that. This trip to Sedona was not only a way to sunset a month long visit for my grandmother in Arizona but Harvey’s first roadtrip (trip in a car for more than 2 hours).
