So unfortunately the solution to overcoming a lot of common hang ups that people have about fiction is "stop worrying what the hypothetical bad faith Twitter user in your head is going to think of you all the time" and that's just like, much much easier said than done.

Okay so basically you have to pretend really hard that the last 10 years of being online didn't happen and/or didn't really effect you in any meaningful way. Then you have to stop caring if people are mad at you. Then you have to convince yourself that enjoying things doesn't have a test portion that you can fail, and not everything is about proving that you are Good At Media Literacy to mean strangers. Then, and only then, will you maybe, possibly be able to enjoy whump fic about women.

i wonder if this whole Calling Typical Misogyny "Porn Addiction" thing wasn't just a successful psyop to shift feminist critique into a right wing framework i.e. trying to make it about "modern degeneracy" and thus paralyzing discourse on the root issue

everything these people claim is "porn addiction" is literally just misogyny. porn could be dismantled globally and men will still view and treat women as sexual property because surprise! turns out men have expected sexual subservience from women loooong before porn ever existed
