Hey guys! If you don’t know me, I’m Amirah, I write primarily meta’s for the fandom! I’ve teamed up with @thethistlegirl and @bands-space-and-monsters-oh-my to create a server for the fandom family!

If you’ve never used discord, discord is designed to be easy to use for communities, with the options to have multiple channels, roles, and ways to communicate on ONE server! It’s very easy to make an account! Go to discordapp.com OR download the app on your phone, and create an account. you should be able to make an account with little to no effort! 

We created the server with the hopes that we can get as much of our fandom family as possible on the server, so we can all share our ideas, thoughts, and fics in one big group chat! This is just a fun way to get everyone together in the same place. 

Once you’ve created an account (or maybe you already have one!) message either me, thistle, or deanna so we can send you a link to join the server! from there you can add friends, and interact with the server, or interact outside the server! 

You can get your own role in the server (Field Agent, SWAT Team, Tech Genius, Lab Nerd), a place to share fics, ideas, write small ficlets, and a chance to connect with everyone in the fandom and make new friends! This is an open, creative, and loving space for EVERYONE in the fandom! No matter your ship, or how new you are, or anything!

i like. need people to understand that homophobic straight cis men still actively kill gay men. and that gay men are hated for violating the cis-hetero binary & their existence threatens the patriarchy.

straight cis men's fear of gay men being attracted to them gets gay men murdered & then their murderers go free because of the gay panic defense. in fact also in the comments of this video is a guy saying when he hears "gay voice" he "sees red" and has to stop himself from attacking them. gay men are not your fucking human shields against straight cis men & you especially do not deserve that if your understanding of homophobia is so shallow you think its literally straight cis men being frightened of gay men & not actual systemic violence and marginalization. especially when it comes to gay men of color. if you think of gay men like this yeah you do think they are accessories. you think they're sparkly pepper spray that exists solely to protect you.

They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. And we owe so much thanks to the other oppressed peoples, in particular the Choctaw Nation and the Masai, who sent money and grain to us.

Let me repeat that. The Choctaw Nation who had just gone through the Trail of Tears sent us money to try save Irish lives. It’s led to an understanding between Irish people and Native American tribes, most recently when we donated to the Navajo and Hopi fundraisers for COVID-19 relief, because while it may be a different tribe, Irish people will never forget those who helped us and we’ll help back.

The entire population of the island is less than seven million people. We’re still a million less on this island than pre famine. And it’s not that long ago. My grandmother’s grandparents lived through it. We’ve told the stories, it literally changed the DNA of the country. We have a national fear of renting, because so many people were evicted. People joke about Irish people always offering loads of food, but it’s because there’s that cultural memory of not being able to.

Much of Europe went through the failure of the potato crop including Scotland, but in that case, England actually helped and made efforts to stop the starvation of the people. There was an active decision on behalf of the British to not help Ireland during An Gorta Mór and it resulted in the deaths of thousands of Irish, Irish speakers and impoverished Irish. Even today, you can visit and see the mass graves of up to 10,000 unidentified people who were left to die during the Great Hunger.
