These are the letters we rent out....  They are custom made by us.  Very sturdy and available for most occasions.

I do a lot of Photo Booth’s and I have to hand it to Tony at EliteDJ.ca who did something I haven’t thought about in a while.

Covid-19 has changed parties for ever and one thing I am seeing is smaller and smaller parties and people are just scared or nervous to dance.  So if it’s safe and allowed in your area & venue...  here’s a great idea to get them on the dance floor.

Stop the music and get the Bride & Groom out in the center of the dance floor.  Invite everyone out there for a giant group photo.  Play the Bride & Grooms favourite big tune (Make sure it’s good)...  lie even.  Say it’s the first song they ever danced to.

I love music & who doesn’t?  Everyone and I mean everyone I’ve ever met has their own idea of what good music is.  And although this type of thing is objective and no one is usually wrong... but…   most are.  lol  I’ve been DJing since 1987 (My Grade 8 Halloween Dance Jam) and no matter the occasion, No matter the the venue, No matter the age or amount of people.  Whether it’s a classy Wedding with celebrities or a basement bash with family and friends these songs are guaranteed to get butts wiggling and asses of their seats.

However...  I will say.  This is a general, blanket list.  If you are DJ a Wedding where all the guests are recent immigrants from Portugal (My parents are Portuguese Immigrants), you might wanna stick to Portuguese music.  If your DJing a Drake Concert afterparty, you might want to stick to the latest Hip Hop trend.  If you’re in Hazzard County, Georgia (Home of Bo & Luke Duke).  You might want to play whatever it is they call music down there.  In Other Words...  Read The Room.

In No Particular Order:

Celebration by Kool & The Gang (1981)  Pretty basic stuff.  Good dancing beat and recognizable.  You can start a lot of parties with this song.

Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough by Michael Jackson (1979)  Great Song!!!  Super recognizable and will get a lot of people moving and shaking.

Hey Ya by Outkast & Andre 3000 (2003)  I just love this song.  It’s a really great song to transition from one genre to another and again...  You need to dance to it.  Plus it’s got a great start.

Hot in Here by Nelly  (2002)  Another Great song that will get those guys who are a little shy to suddenly start ripping off their jackets and ties.

Kiss by Prince  (1986)  Classic Song with a Great Start that will get people running to get their spot on the floor.

Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson (2014)  Want to see if the crowd will know or like anything a little newer?  You can’t go wrong with the song I think is the last good “Dance” song ever made.

Danza Kuduro by Pitbull, Lucenzo & Don Omar  (2010)  Wanna change things up and see if the crowd might like some Spanish music?  This is a good start.  If they dance, try either Sauvamente or Lambada next.

Don’t Stop Believing by Journey (1981)  If you’re crowd is white and I mean really really white.  They basically have to dance and sing along to it.  There is only one other song they love more than this one.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen  (1975)  And this is the other song.  This song was popular before the movie...  Now??  Jeez.  I’ve had more requests for this song than any other song ever.

Man!  I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain  (1997)  Not sure if I have to state the obvious here but if you have a room full of middle aged women you can probably put this on repeat and just go home.  If this does do well then try Boots Scootin Boogie next.

Runners up include… You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC (1980)  Play it...  Play it...  Play it.

Be Faithful Remix by Fatman Scoop & Faith Evans  (2003)  If Hot in Here by Neely did well, then this will too.  Follow it up with Golddigger.

Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley (1980)  Great Song.  But you gotta know when and where to play it.  Good transition song.  Try more 90s Reggae if it does well.

Again...  Read the room.  Every party is different.  If your Party has only couples in their 60s & 70s you might need to play some Sinatra.  There are a lot of people with Polish ancestry in Hamilton, Ontario and so they like their Polkas & 90 Euro Dance Music.  Italians love Eye of the Tiger.  Portuguese people love Pitbull.  Women love Beyonce.  Reading the Room literally means judge a book by it’s cover but don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit.  Play requests but always focus on the women...  the men will dance to whatever the women like.  Even the Spice Girls.

I love music & who doesn’t.  Everyone and I mean everyone I’ve ever met has their own idea of what good music is.  And there is no doubt in my mind that no one is wrong but...   these are songs that in my 30 Years of DJ experience will usually get a standard (Mixed Age & ethnicity) crowd of people dancing and out of their seat.
