Little Rocket Man in Episode Two is one of the most frustrating achievements I’ve ever gotten.

I still hope some of the Resistance started hijacking the Combine synths, and reprogramming them to work for their side! I always wanted the Hunters to be friendly and I feel like they would deserve to turn the Combine’s own creations against them.

Confessions for the rest of the series will still be posted as usual. This post will be reblogged a few times as we approach the new release.

I’ve always found City 17 intensely nostalgic, and it’s the main reason I keep coming back to Half-Life 2. It reminds me of growing up in Europe in the last 90s/early 2000s, and it nails the look and feel of that specific time and place better than any other game I know of.

I’ve been thinking... What if G-Man had something to do with Dr. Breen’s deal with the Combine? Since Breen is clearly aware of him, there has to be something more to all of this.

The first scene in Anticitizen One when you enter the collapsed apartment and the TV plays that eerie siren song feels so much like a piece of my memory that I had lost. I’ll replay that scene 3 or 4 times every play through.

I played Half-Life 2 when I was sixteen, and I’m not saying Alyx Vance was the sole reason I realized I was bisexual, but she was certainly an important factor.

The Stalkers creep me out and unsettle me on such a visceral level. I’m cool with zombies, etc, but for some reason Stalkers are on another level. I guess because what was done to them is so brutal and unthinkable. I hate the beginning of Episode One where you have to avoid them in the Citadel core. And my god...that train scene...

Now that there’s a new HL coming, I think about playing again, buying new hardware for gaming and enjoy it as a hobby like good ol’ times. It scares but amazes me to see how much power this license has on me.

The Hunters’ blue eyes remind me of Wheatley from the Portal games. That’s all I can think about when I see them.

I love antlions so much. I want an antlion as a pet so badly.

If Adrian Shephard appears in Half-Life 3 and has a voice actor, I want him to be voiced by Robin Darnell from Shephard’s Mind.

My favorite part of the Half-Life series is the Strider onslaught at the end of Episode Two. It’s frustrating, nerve-wracking, and makes me anxious, but I feel so relieved and accomplished at the end of it. I love the little adrenaline rush it gives me.
