Here’s something I’ve been thinking for a while:
Kakashi has most of the time his left eye covered, so my question is:
does he have depth perception ???
Obviously yes when he has the sharingan eye exposed, but what about when he has it hidden? Well I did some research witch I find rather cool so I might as well share with you people:
Depth perception arises from a variety of depth cues, which usually are divided into monocular & binocular cues. Monocular cues(two dimensions) provide depth information when viewing a scene with one eye. Binocular cues(three dimensions) provide depth information when viewing a scene with both eyes.
Monocular cues include: Relative Size, Absolute Size and Familiar Size, Elevation, Texture Gradient, Motion Parallax, Aerial Perspective, Linear Perspective, Overlap (or Interposition), Shading and Lighting(Objects that are darkened and obscured may appear further off in the distance than those that are brightly lit)
Binocular cues include: Stereopsis, or retinal (binocular) disparity, or binocular parallax, Convergence, Shadow Stereopsis
To my understanding people can manage perfectly well with just monocular cues and there for even that Naruto has a lot of not so logical designs/abilities, Kakashi covering his left eye on a daily basis doesn’t mean he can’t tell how far objects are from him(which would be rather odd if he did have a problem with this due to the fact he’s never shown any struggles with such things in a battle) I mean villains would definitely use it against him if there were any weaknesses in his vision.
