Our 18 hole parkland styled golf course, renowned for its tremendous greens, poses its own unique challenges to golfers of all skill levels who often return for revenge. Many a good round has crumbled through the closing 4 holes, affectionately known as Amen Corner. The club also boasts a well-merchandised pro shop, state of the art undercover golf driving range, 2 well conditioned bowling greens and four squash courts. For those wanting to kick their shoes off, our clubhouse has 3 bars, 3 function rooms and catering and hospitality services to meet your every requirement. Standing testament to our wonderful facilities, The Lake Club Benoni proudly hosts the largest golf membership , in both ladies and men’s categories, within the Ekurhuleni Golf Union region.

Coaxing ball into the hole

It was originally a 9-hole golf course for nearly 30 years before Grimsdell returned to complete the second nine in 1967-68. The course was left largely untouched until 1998 when Peter Matcovitch upgraded the course and the adjacent “Matumi Golf Estate” was established. Nelspruit (Mbombela) is the capital city of the province of Mpumalanga. The city lies in the fertile valley of the Crocodile River, 330km (205.06 miles) east of Johannesburg in the hot and humid Lowveld.
