CORDILLERA DE FUEGO by Montanus .m4v from MONTANUS on Vimeo.
In their latest bikepacking trip, the Montanus duo explored one of the most incredible places on Earth, a stretch of prehistoric land enclosed between the Pacific Ocean and the Chilean Andes, following the eastern side of the Ring of Fire. ‘Cordillera de Fuego’ is a short film that captures the essence of a self-supported 500km adventure lived in the shadows of snow-capped volcanos and ancient araucaria forests.

Dr. Buzz Aldrin's remarks on the 50th Anniversary of John F Kennedy's Moonshot Challenge - full from Buzz Aldrin on Vimeo.
On May 25, 1961 at Rice University John F Kennedy challenged America to land the first men on the moon and return them safely back to earth. A challenge that would change history for the world as we knew it. Buzz Aldrin highlights the successes of the Apollo mission and makes a point to not repeat inefficient strategies in the future of space exploration.

I Don't Know - A tribute to Adam Yauch from Arie Stavchansky on Vimeo.
Throughout my life, the Beastie Boys have always been there in the background. My life's soundtrack in a way. Through every stage. Every challenge. Every celebration. Their rebelliousness meant so much to the way I lead my life. I took note of how they grew, matured, and continued to practice their dreams and passions. I admired them from afar, and was always in awe when I went to one of their shows. I saw them play live four times and cherished it every time. The energy at their shows was intense, and they just knew how to have just plain fun. What amazed me the most was the way that they could define so much of popular culture, and yet cross so many cultural boundaries.
People who know me, know that I love their work and how much their music means to me. When Adam Yauch passed away today I got several calls all of which I did not answer. I wanted to deal with the loss of an artist who I admired so dearly in private. It is hard to imagine that he won't be on their next studio album. The hoarse, bassy, voice of the "Beastie's Dad Figure" is no more, and I've got a knot in my throat and puddles in my eyes. He will be missed.
I know it's not kosher to use their music on some video I decided to make in my own studio, but when I learned of Yauch's passing, I felt like I had to just make something to honor him. "I Don't Know" appeared on the "Hello Nasty" album. To me, it represents Yauch's finest vocals and his most penetrating message: in the midst of trying to find meaning in our lives, we delude ourselves into believing that we'll be here forever.
"I'm walking through time. Deluded as the next guy. Pretending and hoping and find that distant peace of mind."
Who does know?
Maybe, Adam, you know now what we all don't. May you rest in peace.
