EVENT STARTERS

Aurora wasn’t sure of what to do next, she had arrived alone and although the music was pretty loud, her thoughts were even louder in her head. But she was decided to stay and have a great time, enjoy her first actual party without any type of pressure. She decided to grab a drink from the table and find a place to sit, but just as she turned around she accidentally hit the person behind her. She felt her entire face go red and her cold, sticky soda dripping down her body. Her immediate reaction was to check if she had spilled her drink on the other person’s outfit, and when she realized she didn’t she felt relived. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you were standing there. I should’ve been more careful. Are you ok? Please tell me I didn’t ruin your cloths”

Romeo was sat at one of the tables looking around at the students passing by next to him. He’d noticed some students he didn’t know, a crush or two, teammates and some friends.  Seeing everyone all in one place was nice. He’d almost forgot how many people were here.  The hall looked marvellous with it’s decorations and the DJ blasting music from his booth. Romeo reached his arm out to the next person passing by. He kind of already recognised the person’s face. A ounce of confidence took over him for a couple of seconds as he said: “Hey? I was wondering if you wanted to kill some time and dance with me?”

“Am I supposed to tell someone if their lipstick is smeared?” Laila wondered out loud, using a compact to check that hers wasn’t. “I mean, I know I’d wanna know, but it’s so awkward sometimes.” 

“Undergrads,” Dmitry whined, even though he’d known what he was getting into since the posters for the ball went up. “I’m not saying I’d rather shoot myself than hear one more story about last year’s prom– actually, no, I’m saying that. I’d absolutely rather shoot myself than hear any more about prom.”
