In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID 19, Hackley Public Library will be closed to the public March 16 - April 4. 

However! You can still utilize our great digital resources, including Hoopla and OverDrive (Libby). With your Hackley Library card, digital resources will give you access to thousands of titles and and items at your fingertips, all for FREE.

One of our patrons created this stack of books - out of LEGOS! Now that is taking reading to a whole new creative level!

Happy #TBT, with a photograph showing close-ups of individuals in downtown Muskegon. Unfortunately no date is listed, though it shows the Francis Jiroch Cigar Manufacturer as being located on 19 W. Western Ave. (south side of Western Ave. between Terrace St. and Jefferson St). As found in a periodical: "Francis Jiroch is a native of Austria...He came to Muskegon when a lad, and learned the cigar trade and started business for himself in 1866. He owns his own block, employs a large number of men and in addition to his being one of the directors of the Lumbermen's Bank...His leading ten cent brand is the 'F.J.' which has a large local sale, 'Star' and 'Little Sailor' are his leading five cent brands." credit: HPL Local History Dept. and Periodical, "Headlight Flashes Along the Grand Trunk Railway System: Muskegon, Michigan, by Chicago Railroad Publishing Co."
