Out in Bonivista/Elliston area with these lovely friends for a couple of nights. We’ve known each other for 37 years - 37 YEARS! ❤️ (at Bonavista, Newfoundland and Labrador)

So happy to finally be attending the writers and musician festival in Woody Point. On previous visits to NL, I either didn’t get tickets in time or the dates didn’t line up. This year everything worked out well. Thanks for being game to come with me, @robynhamlyn ! (at Woody Point, Newfoundland and Labrador)

Just needed some outlining, some underpainting, and touching up with white! Some of the inconsistency in the line is to do with the beveled style of board in the shed. . . . Sadie was the only one interested in helping me - she outlined some of the whale and the capelin in grey and designed her own starfish and urchin ❤️

On our first day at the cabin, mom asked if we’d like to paint something on their shed - the one on the wharf. After a few days of thinking on it, and finally settling on an idea from Brian, which was to make whatever shape we put on there look like a print or linocut (a great idea because we essentially only had to buy white paint!) we finally committed and started in on it. I’ll post the finished images in the next post, but we were pretty pleased with the white on blue! . . . Side note: initially I was quite perturbed with Brian for “not listening” to my ideas, which had something to do with painting cod fish and a tide pool, and then I ended up loving his idea and thought that, maybe, I should say so. Ahhh...marriage.

Another dip in another warm, beautiful Newfoundland river - this is the second chute and the structure of the banks had changed so much since I’d last been there, which could have easily been 25 years ago, that I really didn’t believe my father had found the right place. Floods and time - floods and time...

We came across two or three large Osprey nests while out in the boat - mother Osprey is circling above.
