Sopa de Pedra, 2025 Group Exhibition at Termita, Porto PT
RRR
In this series, I embrace the beauty of simplicity and chance by removing the burden of deciding what to paint and instead focusing on creating aesthetically pleasing art open to universal interpretations. Each composition is developed on a 3×3 grid where cells are divided by randomized diagonals (up/down) and filled arbitrarily with red or left blank. The warm, light yellowish sepia tone of the paper adds an organic quality to these precise geometric forms.
In an effort to bring art directly into the public sphere, I installed 10 original pieces across three urban locations in Porto, Portugal. Additionally, a catalog of nine further pieces from this series is available for purchase.
The final pieces will be showcased in the group exhibition "Sopa de Pedra" at Térmita (Largo de Mompilher 5, Porto, Portugal), further emphasizing the project’s commitment to public art and cultural dialogue. This project invites viewers to interpret the abstract forms in their own way.

Signal Patterns, 2024 paint on EDP distribution cabinets, 4 × (75 × 100 × 30 cm)
Process: This work explores the interplay of chance and structure through a randomized design process. Using a modified Rubik’s Cube as a tool, I generated unique graphic compositions by rotating its faces to create random arrangements. These arrangements were then translated into a repeating pattern, applied uniformly across all sides of the cabinet. The choice of white and Malaga red exterior paints references the bold, informative graphics of construction sites, reimagining a functional aesthetic as vibrant public art.
Context: Created as part of the Porto urban art program by Ágora, this piece is located on Rua de Cedofeita, Porto, where it transforms EDP distribution cabinets into canvases for artistic intervention. By integrating art into urban infrastructure, the project invites viewers to reconsider the aesthetics of their everyday environment.
. On March 2, 2024, I was invited to participate in an art action for the exhibition "Adventus Ruptis Et Inseminatio" by Alexandre A. R. Costa at ART LAB 24, Portugal. This event challenged me to explore chance and transformation through a unique prompt: create a piece using a transparent container filled with water and found objects. Inspired by a studio flood Alexandre experienced, it pushed me beyond my usual methods. I used a modified Rubik's Cube to generate a random paper composition, which danced within a transparent box when water was poured in. The movement of the water created ever-evolving, unpredictable compositions, a captivating display of chance and transformation.
