here are my (very speculative) guesses about the new kusu's personality and how he might fit in with the others!!
-he's described as dual-natured: apathetic and short and brief when uninterested, but strategic and focused when given a task. it seems like he needs to have something to lock in on, and that he does his best under pressure.
-he has vulture motifs. does that mean he considers 'clean-up' his role? how does he percieve mononoke? is he sympathetic to them at all, or largely uninterested in their sufferings? it's possible he's more interested in the overall drama that plays out--that would be super interesting for a kusuriuri.
-on the design notes: he's designed for combat more so than the others, so he's likely very suited to it. good chance he enjoys fighting and hunting. would be cool if his sword had a bow variant to to go with the arm guard?
-unsure how social he might be, it's hard to tell beforehand. i feel like he could oscillate between stirring up shit and being fairly solitary, depending on his mood. prob pretty chaotic at heart though.
-experience: we wont know how powerful he is until shingi ken gets an official design with the white or gold kimono, but i honestly hope he's actually more experienced than ri. can you imagine how pissed he'd be about someone likely very unpredictable and wild being his senior. he'd be furious. (i hope this ((certified abnormal)) man is somehow the most sane out of the eight triagrams.)
-relationships with the other bagua: i am not sure if he'd get along well with ri in a casual sense, but they would probably be fine together during a case since we know ken is very focused while working (unlike a certain someone we know). so maybe they get on rach other's nerves a bit but are more than capible of working in tandem.
-i dont think he's getting along with Kon at all. that boy is distractable. sure he's rather good natured and charismatic (and hes very respecting towards ri) but he does not excel at being focused. i feel like many of the triagrams would be amicable wirh kon due to his approachiveness, but i dont think ken is one of them. at least on gut instinct.
-i also think it would be a neat contrast to have ri and kon have differing styles of investigation get along personality-wise (since there's canonically a lot of respect between them despite kon's inexperience), and ri and ken not getting along personality-wise but having compatible methods of investigation.
-idea 1 (really funny): ken is older than ri and possibly even trained him to a degree. the comedic potential would be off the charts. ri would hate this, which is exactly why i immediately like it.
-idea 2: he's somewhere in the middle age-wise. i cant see him being as inexperienced as kon, and ive always sort of viewed him as one of the youngest. from the descriptions, ken seems to have a strategy and habits that are clear, which makes me assume that he's been doing this long enough.
