To start with, I preeeeetty much forgot that I had a tumblr for around 3 years—
I haven't even been active on this account for a good while and it's been collecting all the ashes... Now how'd I somehow remember I had a tumblr? Well! My buddies talked about bringing back a collab Undertale AU we were working on years back together!
Even talked about making a blog, and well we did! So now I'm dusting this off and bringing it back online and I'll be posting some art, maybe even bits of lore for the AU when I've got something to share!
Who I am!
I'm just an online artist and writer who tends to pop in n out of the scene, I'm the Melt/Whim working on the flip-flap/rpgtale collab AU @rpgtale-blog with Zushi and Amie!
Call me Melt or Whim, whichever works!
I go by any male pronouns, 20+ and I've posted some of my other works/creations in Insta (@kyom3lt), Ao3 (Pr0j3ct_M3LT) and discord! (@Kyogyo, posted some of my work in the Phighting discord and in servers with friends!)

Final Journey (UT Au) — An Asriel and Chara focused alternate timeline where the world had ended, inspired by girl's last tour, still a WIP!
SwappedFate (SFate) — An alternate swap timeline where something had gone extremely wrong within a reset.
Oblique!tale (Ob!T) — My old Undertale AU where Undertale and Kirby meet!
Flipflaptale / Rpgtale — The AU collab :] There will be a better description for it once we have the references and ideas done for it!

Hello! Melt here! I haven't had much time to post other works, as we're currently polishing concepts we have before posting more about them... @amiericegrainz and @zushi-sheep
All of us have been pretty busy with IRL stuff & working hard on the concept artworks!!
The @rpgtale-askblog still needs the character sheets and prologue comic before we open it, it's taking longer than we thought it would oops... So!
I had the idea of writing what the AU is about, then presenting our some of our old concepts, ideas, & changes we made for the current version of the AU here before we upload the proper introductions, character sheets and etc. in the askblog!
Its pretty long so 1 post isn't going to cover everything about the AU, so I'll release them by parts as each section I need to focus on certain notes!

With all of the explaination out of the way, I'll start off with the best question to get the yapping going:
What is RPGtale/Flip-Flaptale?
Old Canon:
Originally named Flip-Flaptale as a reference to the anime FlipFlappers.
Their original universe had been destroyed, as such these surviving monsters who've managed to make it out of the chaos now wander the Multiverse trying to make due with their situation.
Its basically taking undertale characters having chaotic fun and world hopping!
It didn't have a complete story back then unfortunately as we slowed down writing for it, the most I could find was the old story document of how their prologue would go, which would be this:
Tbh I can see what the idea we were going for here and I thought it'd be a waste not to polish it in the rewrite!
Current Canon:
Now named RPGtale, taking more inspiration from the classic jrpg genre of game stories. (We still sometimes call it Flip-Flaptale/FFT as a call back to its old name)
RPGtale is an Undertale AU where the war between the two races had lasted for hundreds of years, with both sides beaten and tired the two Races' Monarchs joint hands to stop their people's suffering once and for all. By letting Asgore absorb the Human Monarch's soul and both working together, they've casted a spell that ended the hundreds of years spent at war with each other.
Both lost their lives afterwards, as many others have, however their sacrifices brings a new future to look forward to for their people... Now, that brings us to the current state of the AU before the askblog kicks off!
The AU Overview, pre-askblog plot
The story won't be focusing entirely on the original cast, we'll be following the "next generation"!
What do we mean by that?
Well for one, Asriel is alive in this AU and had met Chara in on going war instead of after! With the war resolved with both races making peace, the Monsters were never sealed under Mt. Ebott!
Its a world thats closer to traditional Fantasy where magic, people and different monster races all live together. There's even a soul and magic system we wrote up to fit it!
Here's all the noted changes for this AU! Buckle up cause there's a lot:
Asgore is dead, tragic as it is, he's heralded as a Hero to both Races. The original Human Monarch was a friend of his, Toriel, and Gerson.
Toriel is retired from being Queen and had chosen to become a School Director, as Asriel took over as the Monsters' current King!
Chara after gaining the approval of the 6 royal human sorcerers, had become the current Monarch of the Humans.
There is a human council of sorcerers, inspired by the main 7 souls that originally sealed the Monsters into Mt. Ebott in the original Undertale. Humans in RPGtale have a democratic system, but still use terms like Monarch instead of Modern terms like President. Doesn't mean that the AU is medieval tho, its progressed enough and I'd say its a good mix like original Undertale.
Undyne and Alphys are married! Its been long enough for them to make the choice!
Muffet and Grillby have a generational rivalry between their shops, their current descendants make it very clear that it's still a fued that's not gonna stop anytime soon.
Mettaton, Napstablook and Mewmew are a renowned music troupe in thr Monster Kingdom!
Gaster is one of the head professors who work with Alphys in teaching the new generation about the war, their technology, and their current magic system. There is no Core or Void to take him, so he's just living the life like a chud.
Papyrus is a Guardsman Instructor and an Uncle! He adopted 3 skeletons all with different circumstances to their orphaning... He's been living alone for a good while until he's chosen to pick these 3 little ones up.
Sans is... Dead, he died in the war, being one of the few named heroes next to Asgore. Tho strangely, he's not entirely gone, whether it was his magic or some change of fate he's a ghost hovering around for the time being.

Why is the section above for the pre-askblog?
Haha well, we wanted to have some more fun, we enjoyed the world hopping idea from the story's old Canon and we felt it'd be pretty sad if we got rid of that completely. So after we fleshed out the main AU we also wrote how it got destroyed by: of course Error!
Remember the 3 skeletons that Papyrus adopted? Add a silly Amnesiac Flower Friend to that, and you've got the RPGtale Askblog group!
Woah man there's so much for the story already...
But honestly we had so much fun with the idea of having our old AUs added into this fun little story, it'd be a shame not to commit to seeing how regular Undertale AUs would react to the whimsical RPGtale cast you know!
Askblog Main Cast! & the RPGverse?!
I'll end this first post with a look into the main cast and other AUs were planning to eventually include in this story! I've used up all my artwork post slots here, so I'm gonna just write down the AUs we own that we'd include in this funny rpg multiverse.
The main group:
> Neon the group's healer and mage who's ready to pull out a gun in a fist fight, he usually asks his brothers to invent crazier and crazier magic guns to mess around with... But he's always ready to make a friend!
Note: None of these is final yet... He doesn't like being mistakened as Sans, he's always correcting people about it, and he really looks up to their Uncle Papyrus!

Note: Chochi is literally just a shortened joke version of Chocolate Milk, the brothers call him Choco for short! Yes, the flower loves the drink, it's his favorite.

I'll make the next post talking more about the world of Rpgtale and what these other AUs are about, there's so much to write...
Also! Since I mentioned it being its own Multiverse, the RPGverse has its own variants of the well known AUs in the undertale community. There's gonna be design changes to differentiate them easier from the original versions!
Working on something for RPGtale in the background, I still need to gather all the old artworks and concepts for it before I make the first part of the posts— So for now I just made another artwork in the meantime!

In case you're curious, I'll be posting details and art about what kind of AU RPGtale is! What the ideas were and how we ended up with the current version of it! Anyways I'll get back to writing it up!

Here we have the Core Admins of the Au! I finally finished writing up the main concepts for the story so now I'm drawing the visuals for it!
I'll make a proper introduction post for the Au once I make the poster art, but! Here's the quick description:
S0MNUS is a Roblox Au where Roblox the game is destroyed, the Robloxia that existed within the game had been shattered into the vastness temporarily.
It remained floating in nothingness for a long time, that is until someone from their "Reality" attempted to recreate Roblox.
Bringing back Robloxia...
With an ERROR, causing Roblox and that "Reality" to collapse together into themselves.
And these are the results of that ERROR.

Conceptualized art and Lore Rambles

They basically tower over actual universes now that I think about it. 🤔

1x1x1x1 The Adversary.
1x couldn't interact with Robloxia any longer after it's destruction and had spent an uncountable amount of time in pure silence, so he was pretty surprised to find a Robloxian that spawned right in front of his domain.
(I have a bit of a fun story planned for this one.)
He isn't exactly present in the au in a traditional sense, but he is an observer unlike before.
2x2 The Origin
2x2 Originally was THE God of Robloxia having been the one who created the world before seemingly disappearing one day, only returning after the ERROR had brought their world back from its shattering.
They have the uncanny ability to converse and perceive "beings outside of Robloxia", though Robloxians think they're... A bit crazy, as no one can see and hear what they can.
The block on their back is a remnant of their original body, they comically use it to wack people when they feel like it.
And they have the ability to create!
The Core Admins & Roblox?
First off we have Kastle! He was originally deceased before the events of Robloxia's destruction, the supposed ERROR miraculously brought him back to Robloxia with... Not much memory as to how he returned, still he was welcomed back regardless.
He sometimes wonder what in the world called him back.
Oh and yes! Both he and B founded the RHQ! And... Created Roblox?.
Next should be Kastle's best friend B! In the current time doesn't go by Builderman as after retiring in this Au, he changed his name to the nickname his co-workers usually called him as (Often called as "The Big B" in the past).
He wanted to live out his new life without the complicated connections to RHQ.
He wanted NOTHING to do with Roblox?, not after everything that had happened.
Now we have Good ol' Shedletsky, he goes by Sheds in the Au and he's a former God.
After losing a challenge from Bright, Doom and B, he joins the RHQ as one of its Core Admins! He usually gets into a lot of trouble with Bright and Doom, the chaotic trio of the Admins.
He used to spar with 1x and Noli in the old days when he was Telamon, though if you ask him about those times he'd have a rather solemn expression on instead of his usual smile.
This time we talk about Duke, the Dussekar of the quartet of Core Admins! He is the head Arch Mage of the Astral Isles in this Au!
Often times in the past he was seen clashing against the Korblox Army, to protect his people's ancient library. He agreed to join the RHQ if and only if they sealed the Astral Isle's library away into a safer Realm where the Korblox Army wouldn't be able to find it.
He sometimes... Gets annoyed at the shenanigans that Sheds, Bright and Doom pull off, still not really believing that Sheds was a God because of this.
Finally, Roblox?, an Artificial Creation that used pieces of 2x2 as a part of its body. Originally both Kastle and B intended for the creation to simply be Robloxia's Guardian while 2x2 wasn't present to keep their world safe, however...
The Destruction of Robloxia caused a change in the creation, worst of all an ERROR snuck into their world and whatever it did... Roblox? was no longer the same Guardian it once was.
It reminisces of the Joys when Robloxia was once was made of, the days when imagination was truly the limit.
How it wishes deeply to return to those distant memories.

Some of my Roblox AU Design Concepts!! I'm thinking I might actually make it into a real ARG, but at the moment I just wanna make the comic and initial story stuff for it :]

He1s, Cool, Moch and Suit are more or less Original Iterations/characters rather than being an AU version of their regular Roblox version :D
No colors yet since for RPGtale!Asriel and Neon the designs aren't finalised as of now, I'm still working on adding some changes for them since I feel like their designs could still use some work!
The Chochi/RPGtale!Flowey one is more of an initial character sheet concept than a design one 👀 I'll release colored versions once I make the AU's title card!

Another fun bit, you'll be surprised to find out Neon isn't actually RPGtale!Sans.

I didnt like how the first render turned out for the shuriken challenge comic, so I decided to redo the whole thing, I'll work on it eventually... For the time being I found some old concept artworks and yappings for my Game Inspired Roblox story S0MNUS!

What is S0MNUS About?
Originally, I wanted to make it into an ARG or Asym horror inspired thing, but decided against it as it was too much for me to handle when writing early drafts, so I thought of making it into a story with some visuals instead! (May post in Ao3 one day)
Its based off the Official Roblox Lore we all know of with a horror twist to it, corrupted code had breached the world thus breaking it— Causing Robloxia to crumble in the chaos.
Our main characters now awake to a broken world, wandering towards the unknown to gain answers for this catastrophe.
I was inspired by games like the Nostalgic Hangout Series and The Robloxia Until Dawn when creating the concepts!
I'll probably post more about this when I've cleaned up my notes and drawn better concepts for it, I've been slowly gathering my stuff before I get mega busy!
I decided to add a few more details to the third panel since it felt too empty, and I'll include a pile of inphernal cookies in the background of the second panel when I do the lineart :]
I'll be grabbing a lotta colors before I post the final piece! Hoping I can get this done soon!! Even if I don't make it in time for the challenge I'll still post it!

Hey, I saw the small cookie run comic even if it’s small it’s still pretty good I’ve looked, and no one‘s been thinking of combining the two in some way so I really like this I hope you have fun with it or at least keep it in mind if you want to change up your routine a bit because it’s always good for a nice change of pace mixing something familiar and new that’s what I like doing and I hope you have fun in your own way with this if you decide to keep the idea in your head
Im genuinely having fun drawing it actually! I have the full mini comic in mind already! I'll just be sticking to 4 since I've drawn with that in mind, on that note of changing routines—
I did take a break from drawing to write one shots for my fic in ao3! Planning on uploading shorts since I'll be working on the comic again and haven't had the chance to update it :]]

So about that cookie run and phighting combo fanart for the challenge...
I sped ran 4 panels for this short comic, saving the 4th for when it's finished cause it's my favorite out of all of them!!! I'll try and finish it in a few days for the event, I'll put the challenge tag when I've rendered all comic panels!!
