#undertale sona

it's a fairly simple drawing but i'm really proud of it, i think it turned out well!

not just the game itself, but everything around it.

coming home from school and immediately checking amino. staying up way too late watching animations, fan dubs, theory videos, comic dubs and speedpaints. hearing a song from the soundtrack and feeling like it was the most beautiful thing i’d ever listened to.

i remember feeling like the world of undertale was endless. like there was always another secret, another fan project, another au, another story someone had created.

i don’t think i realized at the time how much it all meant to me.

and now, years later, i keep finding myself wanting that feeling back.

but the truth is, i don’t think i can ever get it back.

i’m not the same person i was when i first fell into the underground. i’ve changed. the internet has changed. the fandom has changed. i already know the story. i already know how everything ends.

there is no true reset.

sometimes that makes me sad.

sometimes i wish i could experience it all again for the first time. i wish i could go back to being that kid who sat in front of a screen completely mindblown by such a silly game

but maybe i’ve been looking at it the wrong way.

maybe the goal was never to relive the exact same feeling.

maybe the goal is to find out why it stayed with me for so long.

because even after all these years, after all the phases i’ve gone through and all the things i’ve moved on from, undertale is still here.
