LONG time no update huh? Back with a GX (2 actually) and ready to enjoy 1G-G again. My obsession with this car is strong and goes back far longer than I’d care to admit (early 81 days I think it was). These aren’t common in NZ but from government data, I knew there were 2 (yes 2) still around. The other one is in Auckland (factory twincam24) but not to my liking (milage / condition wise). I hunted for this specific car knowing it was somewhere in the northern South Island region (huge area, small population). Well tl;dr, some fb sleuthing later and a few phone calls, I did find it.. Luck didn’t end there as the owner actually wanted to sell it. Some real rich history behind the car and it did come to me completely stock (1G-E / W55). I’ve since twincam swapped it (MAP 1G-G bluetop) and lowered it before putting it on some loaner Focus Spoke.Â
