SJM posted the HOFAS cover/title 6 months before release.
4 months later she posted a selfie with the book. (2-mo before release)
2 months later she posted a blurb. One. Fucking. Blurb. 20-days before release.
Then on January 25th, 5 days before release, she posted that the 1st chapter was available online. Of course we know this happened because the book was leaked. *Thank you Brazil
Did they learn nothing from this fumbled release?
Translators are posting selfies with the digital copy. Other countries are posting hints, and then being forced to remove them.
They know we want the book. They know we want to know about the book. They. Fucking. Know!

Do they really think the book won’t get leaked again? The tighter you squeeze your greedy fists, the bigger the chance that a fan will decide to play hero and leak it. And let’s not pretend that Indie Stores won’t have it on their shelves early.
It’s been 127 days since the book was announced. It’s 105 days until release. I have to admit… I may love the series, but my fan love for SJM is dwindling down from woo hoo to meh. If I were to meet her on the street, I wouldn’t be thinking about asking for an autograph. I’d be actively telling myself not to tell her how much she’s disappointed the fandom with her noncommunication. (Because I’m not her mom)

To me, the ending of ACOSF made it obvious that Azriel would be the focus of the next book, and then HOFAS confirmed that he’s being set up as a protagonist and that Nesta’s story isn’t over yet.
You might argue that her story wrapped up in ACOSF, but Sarah made the choice to put that plotline in her hands.
It doesn't make sense to me to start ACOTAR 6 with a character like Elain, who is being completely sidelined, and ignore the two characters who are currently active in the story.
My biggest ACOTAR "hot take" is that Elain wasn't particularly riled up by Azriel at all.
Az was just there.
It seems a bit odd that they've been around each other so much, yet it's only when a certain someone's right upstairs that she's sleepless, wandering around, and considers sleeping with him.
She likes him well enough. He's been good to her. He rescued her. He's gorgeous. There's a little crush going on.
But from what we know about Elain, she's not the type to act on something as little as a crush. She is profoundly different from her sisters in that way, and that fact has come up more than once.
Lucien—whose heartbeat she hears through the stone—is right upstairs.
She feels Lucien through that bond, not Azriel.
Azriel is a deterrent.
I don't find it coincidence either that the very same "bonus chapter" (which, don't get me started on that nonsense) shifts focus right after to Gwyn.

I know a lot of people have theories that one or the other Archeron sister will “revive the Dusk Court”, but cannon wise — it’s not gonna happen.
CC3 House of Flame and Shadow: Bryce says the mountain belongs to her. She also says, “She'd let them out if she restored the mountain to its former glory.” Them being the prison inmates. 
This is why reading ALL the books is important.

It’s fucking crazy to me how many people want to rewrite acotar, while simultaneously saying it’s their favorite series.
Rhys isn’t part Valg/Asteri.
Azriel isn’t a Prince of Hel.
Windhaven mountains in tog and Windhaven camp in ACOTAR doesn’t mean they are in the same world. (It probably means the Asteri named both)
Thinking these things means you’ve taken what’s written out of context to fit your narrative. Essentially, rewriting the narrative the author has written. 
Queen Theia’s daughters having black hair, while their parents are blonde, means SJM wanted their hair black.
Rhys being the most powerful high lord in history, means SJM wanted him to be.
The Azriel is a prince of Hel theory is wildly far fetched.
Places with same names? Obviously, SJM is connecting the different worlds for the CC build up, where the people’s of those worlds come together on a new world.
If you want characters to have the evil narrative, then read a different book. There’s loads out there to pick from.
Or… hear me out, just write a book yourself and publish it.
