As much as I hate to do this, no longer having a partner on this kind of makes this the end of the road, thus this blog is going on an indefinite hiatus. I have messages in my inbox here which are super appreciated, it makes me really happy to know that anyone enjoyed reading this, and it does make me sad to let it go. If you'd like to contact me for any reason, still feel free, and don't be afraid to do so off of anon if it's something about RP'ing or anything like that, and I can always be found easily on my personal as well. Again, thank you all for reading and being so interested! To those I've chatted idly with ooc, a extra dose of xo. Maybe someday this will be revisited again. ❤
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE ARE YOU DEAD
(ooc~ I have no idea. I haven’t heard from Peter’s player in awhile, so might just be over - but nope, I’m not dead.)
Ringing in the New Year || Peter & Gwen
Ever since the very night that Peter had discovered Gwen’s disappearance he’d lost sleep. Nearly a wink was given toward his own sanity — he’d circled the streets of New York City and each city surrounding in hopes that one night he’d catch a glimpse that would tip off of where Kingpin’s location could possibly be. So far there had been leads, but they’d all fallen short, and that lead Peter to wonder if Gwen was still alive, and if she wasn’t… that was a thought in itself that he wasn’t able to process. He had to hold onto some kind of hope, he knew that if something had happened to her, it would only lead to being his own fault to the matter.
The first few nights he’d go back to Gwen’s room in search for more clues, but nothing popped out at him other than scattered debris that would be cleaned by her mother nights after. Eavesdropping on the police radios wasn’t any help either, they hadn’t heard a peep about the blonde, and that only lead Peter’s thoughts to wander more. Upon walking around the city, hoping to find some sort of hint to where the darker side of New York City would be ringing in their New Years, maybe that could lead him to as of right now — his biggest foe.
It was a long shot, sitting outside of the jailhouse, wondering if any fellow would make bail on the very night right before anyone would head to celebratory events, but Peter didn’t have many options as he hid out on the side of the stoop, and just like that, a man exiting was raving over how gracious his long time pal was to get him out just in time for a party. Of course, he couldn’t be for certain if the party contained anyone he had interest in, but it was worth a try. Peter watched several men load into the limo, and just like that before he knew it, he had his mask on again, and he was in pursuit.
Once they’d arrived to the building, Peter scaled it, sure that a formal entrance wouldn’t be happening for him this evening, especially if Gwen just so happened to be there. Finding an access door through the roof, Peter quietly made a dash into the next visible hallway and down the stairs where the party guests would soon be visible.
These people seemed to know what they were doing. For all that Gwen knew there was a cover up for her disappearance, for all she knew there wasn't anyone out there looking for her. It wasn't as if it would have been hard, the only people who really knew that she was back in the city was her family and of course Norman Osborn, but he was the one who'd put her in this situation. She'd yet to get a chance to see Peter, delaying that for as long as was possible, afraid of what a meet up with him would bring again after how things ended while she was in England, little did she know that, that might have been what would cause her final demise. While she'd been kept from too much harm thus far, something would happen eventually, there was no doubting that. Kingpin at the very least seemed to know that she was involved with Spider-Man, whether he knew of his full identity or not was another story. He wasn't asking the questions, thus Gwen wasn't bringing them up herself. There was no sense in putting anyone else in danger, Peter especially.
That was the way that she was looking at it, not taking any shots that were too long. A wise moment would have to present itself eventually to remove herself from the situation, but for now she would use it to her advantage. Whether anyone was looking for her or not, her situation was alluding her into intel that she wouldn't have otherwise. Should the chance arise to leave, she'd have information useful to bringing these men down, an inside look at things. Complying for as long as she could keep an ear out, that was what she would make of tonight as well, or at least that would be the idea. With all of the eyes on her she wasn't positive how much would be said or revealed. Hopeful that words would be kept, yet the more uncomfortable she grew, the more eager Gwen grew for a reason to dismiss.
"I need to use the ladies room." she dropped the words up to the massive man beside her before beginning to pull her arm from his, immediately jerked back in. "My guards will escort you. Return the second you're done. Remember our deal, no funny business." Nodding slowly as she was released, Gwen's eyes darted down to the ground, fiddling her fingers together nervously as she was escorted down a hallway and out of the main room. Past double wide opened doors, men circled around a table, what looked from a glance as a model of the city upon it, her steps slowed to get a better look. One of the men inside spotting her doing so, as her eyes were narrowed, the doors would quickly be shut, the blonde pushed forward by Kingpin's guards. "Keep moving blondie, bathroom's at the end of the hall." Staying silent, seeing it ahead, she continued forward, closing the door behind her with the men taking station on either side of the door to make certain that she made it back out.
Ringing in the New Year || Peter & Gwen
The days past by had become lost on Gwen. Had it been weeks since she had been taken? Or perhaps time had even stretched as far on as months. Wondering if there was any sort of news of her disappearance, mostly for the fact that she was still stuck under the guard of Kingpin and his men, as each day passed she lost that much more hope. Doing what she could in order to stay alive, looking for an escape at every turn, she had to hand it to Kingpin, he knew how to keep things in order, right where he wanted them. Wondering what the main goal was in all of this, she'd listened in on as many conversations as she could, and through her placement that hadn't been hard. It was obvious that this had to do with her involvement with Spider-Man, but what would come of it? Threats constantly wavered over her head, and yet they were never acted upon. It was this that rose more suspicion to Gwen, as of now she seemed to be nothing more than a pet.
It was sick what had become of her , an object to gawk upon. It was there that the threats came in. Not only was there the fact that she was involved with Spider-Man, someone who'd played a part in putting some of these men behind bars for a time, members of their families as well, but it was the fact that she was a Stacy as well - her father having played a part in putting his share of New York's least desirable away as well. Something about tonight, however, would be different than prior experiences yet.
A party, one that she had no desire to attend, but what did her opinion matter of anything in her current situation? Absolutely nothing. A chance to ring in the New Year amongst men recently released, those and others who were Kingpin's colleagues, paraded about as something to spit upon, a symbol of what threatened their lifestyles. A lavish gown that clung to her lithe frame like a glove would have Gwen feeling vulnerable alone, if not for the cuffs hidden beneath its hem around her ankles to keep her from being able to stray too far at any given moment - promised that no harm would come of her or Spider-Man as long as she cooperated. As she looked around the room, anxious as could be, well aware of the eyes upon her as she was kept at the large man's side, trying to focus on anything but the conversations going on around her, she closed her eyes and silently prayed that she'd make it out of there in one piece.

WHERE HAS YOUR RP GONE?
ooc: Just on a hiatus for the holidays! We should be back.
Fly Trapped in a Jar || Solo Round
It was safe to say that the return to New York had gone without flaw. Genuinely surprised, was Gwen, to have been offered a job at OSCORP. Of course, with everything that had happened, the outpour of incidents in which the corporation was involved, it was only natural that the blonde would hold suspicions, and yet at the same time, perhaps this was her official chance to get on the inside of things.
Once Peter left England, that left Gwen with more time to herself, more time for her studies, and furthermore, more time to devout to volunteering for things. The second the chance to work with the symbiote was offered, she had been amongst the first to sign up, selected as well. The chance to work with the man behind it all in a smaller setting, Norman Osborn himself, although he didn't actually come around that often, that didn't leave him from being any less impressed by her work and findings, the effects it had on things which it bonded to.
Admittedly, curious for her own reasons - for Peter, although she shouldn't have been, new information she would be returning to New York with along with that job. Certain that her recently bloomed friendship with Harry while he'd been in England with his father was a part of the reason she'd landed the position, Gwen wasn't in any place to complain. It was nice to have someone to confide in with Peter gone, and someone to relate to about missing the city. More than a few nights spent having dinner with the Osborn men, she found that they were actually much less intimidating than they appeared to be on the surface.
Little did she know what all was going on behind the scenes, and what intentions were laced with her job offering and return to the city. It was what would have her in the situation that she was in now, passed out in the back of a darkened van - taken.
"Miss Stacy, a ride home?" It had all started out simply, just as she'd left the building the limousine pulled up to the curb, the window rolled down, Norman Osborn inside. Content with walking until she could manage to hail herself a cab, this seemed more convenient, and never for a second did Gwen think there were ill intentions involved.
Small talk during the ride, getting a little carried away having been asked about her studies that were going on, on the side, still attending classes while working for OSCORP, she didn't notice the limo had taken them to the wrong location until it came to an abrupt halt and Norman said his goodbyes. Looking out of the window, confusion on her expression, she laughed nervously, not fully grasping onto her bag. "But… this isn't my place." she commented, the man releasing a laugh in response. No where near where she was supposed to be, no where near where anyone who might care would see her get out, it was hard for her to grasp what was going on for the sheer fact that she didn't want to believe it.
"I'm well aware of that, Gwendolyn, but this is the end of your ride." Opening her mouth, only the word 'but-' was spoken before she would be cut off. "I said get out!" Not wasting another moment arguing, the shout causing a startle, she grabbed her bag and reached for the door handle. "No, this stays behind, your cellphone too." Growing uneasy, scared, the bag was snatched from her and she exited the limo without another option.
Stepping away from the vehicle, she was near waiting for this all to be declared as a joke, only it would pull off and drive away in no time at all. Turning her head in the opposite direction, and spotting a large man standing still, perfectly so, facing her, it was a man who Gwen recognized from before and she knew this only meant trouble. Her pulse rising, heart racing, she did what she could, taking off in the opposite direction as quickly as her legs could carry her. Not daring to look back behind, with the man being much faster it would only be a matter of time before arms would lock tightly around her torso, not so much as a scream released before her mouth was covered in a cloth that would bring her into a daze and finally silence.

LETTER ✎ PETER
[One letter, never sent.]
Dear Peter,
How sad is it that I can't think of a better way to get in contact with you than a letter? Of course there's calling… there's always calling, but anytime I try to pick up the phone all I do is stare at your number, the call screen waiting to be activated… that picture of us that I stupidly hang onto.
When it comes down to it, you left… and in the process, you took my heart with you. I know that I was harsh, but I didn't know how to react. You told me that you were leaving and at that point it all just sort of sunk in, you were really gone. I know I was the one who said that we were holding onto something that was maybe impossible to hold onto, but I guess I never expected you to let go, and it all happened just like that.
While it's been a few months, I've found that I still can't say goodbye to you, not really. Despite how it might have seemed and how rough things became, selfishly, you coming to England meant the world to me. I've been on dates here and there, trying to move on, but nothing compares to what we had, and - I need to stop.
There is a point to this letter that's not to tell you things you don't wanna hear about. I wanted to let you know that I'm heading back to New York. Remember how OSCORP was involved over here? Well, I did a few things to involve myself with their study, and was offered a job by the time it was all through. By Norman Osborn himself, actually, so… that was pretty great.
I'm not letting you know to reconcile or anything like that, I just… I'm actually not sure where I'm going with this...
