Do you have any tips on how to color the light underside of a dark skinned person's palm? How much lighter should it be, and should it be pale or have a redder tint like blush? I'm white and I worry I've been doing it incorrectly.
OH Â B O I Â ~
Eesh, coloring darkskin palms is one of those things iâm good at doing but not so good at explaining, so iâll try my best on this one
Okay so starting off
The palm of a dark skin personâs hand is simply just a reflection of their undertone
Everyone has an undertone and black people are no different. A dark skin personâs palm is a part of their hand that has little to no melanin. Without all of that melanin the only thing thatâs left is their undertone
Black people with an orange undertone tend to have orange looking palms
Black people with a neutral undertone tend to have a mixture of pinkish orange-ish looking palms
And black people with red undertones tend to have pink looking palms
So how exactly do you determine the palm color and undertone of a darkskin black person?
ight so  B  O O M,
When it comes to a black person with a neutral skin tone rather than raising the color up in the Spectrum simply just lighten the skin
Skin tone can be complicated so I made a few examples:
Make sure when coloring black palms to always add a gradient
(( Many artists have done this and I too am guilty of it so dont sweat it ))
âĄHope these tips help you outâĄ
Super hero team up! đĽ

I made a felt version of my elder cat just so I could have a photo shoot. My son and my creature are both in awe or something

ICE is opening an office about 15 minutes away from me. I initially made this as an idea for a protest sign, but wanted to share it.
THIS IMAGE IS 100% COMPLETELY FREE TO USE! You can reproduce it as stickers, fliers, posters, whatever. I just ask that you do not SELL it.
It is set to PWYW if you want to tip. All tips from this image will be going to my local Food Not Bombs chapter, the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, and the Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance.

Discussing wage being seen as rude is 100% something invented by people interested in paying as little as possible for labor.
I hate how often some (typically abled) people will go âwell, if you canât [get a specific support], then what?â when it comes to disabilities. As if itâs a âgotchaâ moment. And then act like youâre exaggerating when you answer that question honestly.
Disabled people often die from a lack of support. A lot of disability aids are not a luxury, but a basic need in order to live.
âWell what happens ifââ people die. People hurt themselves. People hurt others. Disabled people donât magically become abled if our needs arenât met.
If a bedbound quadriplegic is caught in a housefire, and thereâs nobody there to save them, theyâll probably die. They wonât magically become able-bodied out of sheer will.
If a nonspeaking/nonverbal autistic is denied access to alternative methods of communication, theyâll suffer in silence. They wonât spontaneously become capable of speech.
Disabled people are disabled all the time. Our disabilities donât go away just because theyâre inconvenient, or if weâre in danger.

Ayoo just to preempt the inevitable dumb takes weâre about to start seeing;
I am PRO-WOOL
I am PRO-LEATHER
I am PRO-BEES
Fuck the idea of replacing durable, sustainable animal products with cheap, flimsy plastic that doesnât bio-degrade. Agave nectar and other artificial sweeteners are expensive, labor-intensive, and destroy the environment to be farmed.
Do not buy into pernicious marketing campaigns pushed by dickhead organizations trying to stay relevant, like PETA.
wool is possibly the most vegan friendly, non-harmful fabric we have available. not only can it be harvested completely risk free, with zero damage to the sheep itâs harvested from, but it is beneficial to the sheep.
sheep need to be sheared to stay healthy. it is good for them. it reduces their stress, risk of illness, and keeps them safe in the heat.
wool is good. even if you feel icky about wearing leather or hides, wool should be universally viewed as a good thing.
The most environmentally friendly materials are 2nd hand animal products.
*
But also I follow a ton of people online who sheer sheep & other animals like alpacas (because itâs so funny) theyâre fine.
You can see in their eyes that theyâre fine.
Theyâre vibin with their mates, then theyâre separated but this happens so its nbd, then theyâre being manhandled a lil & theyâre like â??? Iâm on my back?? Whatâs going on?? Where is my grass???â Less than 2 mins later theyâre back on their feet w a new hair cut & are like âOh Iâm upright again, oh look there are my friends and we all have cute new haircuts letâs go eatâ
Like they do not care.
And they are not harmed because cuts & nicks ruin next years wool.
*
And bees?
BEES??!?!
Theyâre fuckin UNIONISED!!!
If they donât fuckin like where they are they will leave. If it gets too crowded, they will leave, maybe half of them will but it will be bad.
And bees are not harmed because that will also negatively effect future honey & wax production.
If youâre really worried about the bees, go to your local farmers market, there will be at least 1 stall selling honey, talk to them about their hives & how they do it all, I promise you that they are waiting to talk about their bees & hives to someone. Ask if they have pictures. & then buy from them. (A lot of them have cute af candles made out of bees wax I got one & it was too cute to use for so long)
*
As for leather/hide: if the animal is going to be eaten anyway, surely itâs best to use it all, right?
Like as long as the animal is raised happy & meets a quick death, Iâm happy. (âwHaT iF u WeRE tHeM!â Yeah thatâs what Iâd want. Happy life, quick death, use all of me)
The average cow gives about 300kg of meat plus organs (brains, eyes, tongue, etc cuz people eat those. Iâve had tongue at a Korean BBQ place & it was fine ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ it wasnât amazing & it wasnât terrible it was just meat.) Then there are blood, bones, skin, etc.
Bone marrow is actually delicious Iâve had it once & it was so good.
& anything humans donât eat can be animal or plant food (pets, compost, blood & bone nutrients for soil, etc)
Yeah the supply chain could treat workers better and produce less emissions but the same could be said for literally anything beyond growing all ur own food in ur backyard.
The average cow produces around 600 servings of meat (if 300kg meat is divided into 500g servings with allowances for organ meat, even if itâs divided into 1kg servings thatâs still 300 servings at least)
Thatâs one meal for 600 people from 1 cow. Plus the animal food, leather goods (the average cow has a hide of about 50 square feet), & fertiliser to grow more food.
*
âThe meat industry is responsible for so much climate change emissions!!!â
Yeah cuz a lot of it is all still run on non-renewable energy sources.
A switch to all renewable across the world (as much as possible) would drastically reduce that along with everyone else.
All supply chains should be run on renewables. (Factories, lodgings, trucks, etc)
But also the meat industry produces 350 million tons of meat per year (which is about 320 billion kgs or at least 320-640 billion portions per year or 40-80 portions per person per year. Probably more.)
Yes, that causes like 20% of global emissions & thatâs terrifying.
The 1% tho?? With their private jets & mega yahts? Theyâre responsible for a around 15% of emissions each year.
Letâs compare these 2 numbers.
At least 300 billion meals for 20% of the emissions (on average if someone ate 1 portion for 3 meals a day, theyâd eat 1,095 portions a year & if decided like that the 300B portions could feed 273,972,603 people for a full year which is 3.45% of the global population at minimum. Its probably double that irl & obviously this isnt how animal products are divided, it doesnt take into account private farms, hunters, or seafood)
While the 1% is about 80 million people. Contributing just 5% less than one of the main food industries in the world.
We are focusing on the wrong things. Ground the private planes, beach the mega yachts, make the rich pay their fair share.
*
âCows produce so much methane & thats worse than CO²!!â
Because of what we feed them right now. Itâs already been proven that a change in their diets will have a big impact on their methane production as well as potentially improve the biodiversity of the area AND shouldnât effect meat/milk production.
The animals are not the issue here
The issue is the greed of the 1% choosing to save 10 cents a cow by not doing the right things.
Donât let them greenwash things, demand action that will actually help people.
Not everyone can go vegan
Not everyone should have to go vegan so the rich can stay rich
It was fine for hundreds of years and now we produce more food than we can eat and it all rots on the store shelves because people who need it donât have access to it.
More emissions are produced & wasted by food thatâs made & then thrown out.
France has now made it illegal to throw out food that can still be eaten & it has to be donated to food drives. Everywhere should be like this.
(Note: if u occasionally forget about food or leftovers in ur fridge & have to throw it out donât feel bad, as long as youâre trying your best youâre fine)
(Also the main things that replaces meat products are soy or nuts. 2 of the main biggest allergies experienced worldwide, so no, a lot of people canât really go vegan)
Bean soup/waffles disclaimer:
I am not saying that going vegan isnât good, Iâm not saying youâre evil for going vegan, Iâm not saying you shouldnât go vegan if you can/want to.
The only thing I have against vegans in principle/theory is their obsession with plastic replacements of animal products which is worse for everyone including animals, their insistence that if no animals are visibly hurt for their food, thereâs no harm (biodiversity collapse, human exploitation, etc), & the general snobbishness they have for people who arenât vegan. (If u do none of these I have no issue with u)
I personally think that a diet thatâs a balance of omnivore & vegetarian with most food being what can be sourced âlocallyâ (in country or if ure in Europe countries nearby) is where we need to be going.

Maintaining a diversity of ongoing personal projects is important because it enables you to procrastinate on one by aimlessly tinkering with another, thereby creating the possibility that you'll finish one of them by accident.
The thing is, even if you were lucky and your parents taught you how to clean, they probably didn't teach you how to clean the stuff you clean stuff with, like brushes, mops, sponges, rags, and so on. Or how to clean your cleaning appliances, like a dish washer, clothes washing machine, and clothes dryer and its ducts (if you have a ducted dryer), or a carpet cleaner, vacuum, Or how to clean up clean messes, like spilled bleach or detergent.
My parents threw away all of these things (even the vacuum cleaners and the dryer) when they got too dirty to function, because no one even told them THAT they could be cleaned. Cost them thousands of dollars over the years.
All I'm saying is that cleaning is not intuitive, and not knowing how to clean is not a moral failing, but it is something you can learn.
I'm going to reblog this post with resources for learning how to clean things and how to clean cleaning things (I'm not at my desk at the moment). If you have any favorites, please feel free to add them in too!
I like this video because it does a great job of introducing the basic foundations of house cleaning (and because he doesn't use bleach).
