Keiichi Tanaami 1936-2024 is a Japanese artist known for his surreal and psychedelic works.
He created vibrant, dreamlike paintings and prints, often featuring skulls, snakes, and other symbols, reflecting his interest in psychedelia and counterculture. He also drew on his own memories of war from childhood and his brush with death after recovering from life threatening illness.
Tanaami explored various media, including animation, film, and sculpture, and collaborated with artists like Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg. He joined progressive artistic movements in Japan and enjoyed bringing his experience in graphic design into his work.

Maria Izquierdo (1902-1955) was a Mexican painter and one of the first women to study at the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts in Mexico City

Duncan Grant. Scottish b. 1885-1978. Spent his childhood in Burma. He was a leading figure in the Bloomsbury Group, a loosely-knit circle of artists, writers (Virginia Wolf) and intellectuals, resident in the Bloomsbury area of London in the years before the First World War. Grant's painting was strongly influenced by the intense colours of French Post-Impressionism.

Guido on her identifying with the surrealist movement; “I definitely have a predisposition to puns, to wander into the unconscious and to play with the hidden links between ideas and things…I love to explore human drives and play with desires, together with a little black humour.”

Spent six months wrongfully imprisoned and valued the scraps of drawings he buried on small pieces of paper to keep up a practice he wasn’t entitled to hold on jail. These small sketches represented segments of ideas, which has informed his creative process since being released from prison.

Blair Saxon-Hill. Contemporary North American artist from Portland, OR.
Makes amazing collages from discarded materials- often fabrics salvaged from op shop bins. She describes having a large library of these fabrics but really creating from the fact that there is a limited quantity with no ability to order more of a material she’s using.

“I was born at Hamilton Downs. My father and mother been leave me to stay with my sister Trudy. Then we came back to Jay Creek for school. Everyday after school we used to go swimming at Jay Creek. My grandmother taught me everything about culture; how to find honey ants, bush tucker, dancing, language. This made me strong.”
Dulcie helped establish and has attended Yarrenyty Art Centre of Alice Springs and has attended for 15 years. Drawn to create exurbs and bird soft sculpture and images.
