Idk why people don’t use their PTO, especially if it’s use or lose style PTO. Sure, just give your employer free money.

What usually happens is that it gets paid out to the people who don't use it at the end of the year. My employer does this.

Some ppl want the cash, I get that.

One of my tutors for Independent Study was also a Public School Teacher during the week. Their union got a deal where every day that they never took off sick was half a days pay you could take as retirement early. So he worked for like 25 years and never took a sick day off. Dude retired early getting a full decade of pay still coming in.

What a fucking move right there

I have to time my PTO so it doesn't interrupt my large pay cycle otherwise I lose my overtime pay.
