I love seeing people send in pictures of their piggies, I miss mine very much

And our hearts are full,

I love guinea pigs and want to have them as my companions till death. But, at the moment, i cannot give them the enclosure they deserve. Sadly they are housing in a pet store cage (which I hate, but cannot do anything against).

My goal is, to give them the space they deserve and more. Though I cannot find fitting homes for them. My plan is to build them a cage on my own, but i just cannot settle on a material. As you and me well know, you poop and pee everywhere, because of your digestive system. So i need something that can withstand your "left-behinds". Most selfmade cages are out of wood, but I don't know, if that would be a wise decision.

I prefer to use the not-hay (i don't know the englisch word. In german its called "Streu") to have them live on. Though if you (or any of the other piggy parents) have a recommendation I would try it.

I would be very grateful for advice from anyone. I have read through websites and they are not as helfpful as i need them to be. So I put my questions in your paws and hope.
