  —–  HIS  OPINION  OF  the  chantry  was  unfavourable.  lucien  had  long  grown  tired  of  their  relentless  preaching  as  he  passed  by…  so  much  so  that  he  often  went  the  long  way  around  to  avoid  the  temple  from  roving  into  view.  he  was  no  believer  in  the  maker,  but  allowed  any  others  to  keep  to  their  respective  beliefs.  lucien  was  not  one  to  force  his  opinion  on  another,  much  unlike  the  chantry  itself.

  ❝ no,  there  is  no  tree  near  my  home.  only  alleyways  &  equally  as  disreputable  neighbors. ❞  he’d  caught  a  few  of  the  closer  tenants  attempting  to  pick  the  lock  on  his  door  –  &  naturally,  they  had  met  their  untimely  end  at  the  edge  of  his  blade.  considering  denerim’s  less  than  savoury  reputation,  it  was  just  another  simple  mystery  in  a  no  doubt  endless  slew  of  killings…  much  to  lucien’s  satisfaction,  for  he  had  no  inclination  to  draw  much  attention  to  himself.

        victor spoke of the vhenadahl carelessly,  as if it meant nothing at all--------&  it didn’t, not to him. the chantry allowed the elves their tree in the middle of their walled-off ‘sanctuary,’ a supposed symbol to remember their heritage; yet only allowed them to live there if they cast off their elvhen ways, FORGOT their roots entirely--------they had their tree, but to victor it was merely a symbol of forced compromise. here, have your tree, just don’t be elfy about it. he shrugged again.    ❛ well, there you are missin’ out. its a nice tree for shade. and for climbin’, though i don’t think m’actually supposed to do that. ❜
