It's...It was my fault... [Orion and Kanra]
He was breathing heavily. Nothing would stop, all the voices, the fire, the visions, the memories, everything was going on at once…
…Until he heard a voice. A familiar one.
Orion opened his eyes, tears streaming down his face, as if rivers ran from his eyes, and looked up at his company. Kanra had her hand outstretched, and was looking down at him. He wanted to grasp it, he wanted to feel someone could protect him from the recollection, to comfort him, but as he uncovered one of his ears, he screwed his eyes shut and clasped his hand back. The voices seemed to have gotten louder.
He was still shaking, and his voice was hoarse, but he managed to get out a small “…H-hello…”. This was soon followed by a small plead.
"K-Kanra, could you…m-m-maybe…" He stopped, sniffing and holding in sobs. He composed himself and finished. "…could I…h-have a…a hug…?"
{❋} ~ The sound of Orion's voice was enough to figuratively tear Kanra's heart out. She listened to his request and tentatively, she walked a little closer to him, sitting by his side and wrapping her arms around the much taller figure's frame. It looked comically ridiculous, having such a petite girl not being able to fully wrap her arms fully around someone a lot taller than she, but however, in this situation, she didn't care. She leaned her head against Orion and hummed softly, before she spoke up finally.
"Orion... I cannot quite say I understand how you are suffering right now, and it would be unpleasant of me to even try... However, please know that no one here will blame you for your past, or treat you any differently because of it..." she paused, sighing softly, "... What happened back there is truly none of our business, and I will make sure to protect you as much as I can. I promise you, I will not let you come to harm..." She stopped there. It was a strong promise to live up to, but she'd try. Seeing all of these creatures in a place where they didn't belong was cruel and plain wrong.
She'd do all she could for Orion. She would keep to her promise.
