Night Light

“Well Mister Wispy, I haven’t much else to talk to, children can’t see me and I only ever really work at night…” she admitted, rather lonely but the stars were always there…so she had grown used to only them being there…

He smiles, and begins to pace around. 

"...I suppose, but one can't be all to adventurous when they have such a constant stream of work." she said with a blink, though she was sure he had stuff to do as well...So that was no excuse. 

“Oh? Heh yeah it’s usually pretty cold up here, the higher you go, the colder you get. You know I’ve never really understood how you don’t feel any temperatures, I mean I guess it’s a good thing.” she said, more so thoughtful about it at the moment before her attention was taken to the lights that started to dance gracefully across the sky.

He gives a small sigh, then leans his head back a little.

Her eyes lit up a bit as she grinned more now, “heh well we are different! i’m not much of a guide…you keep them safe…I keep them safe…in a different way. More or less I just help make them feel safe.” she explained after a moment of thought.

He laughed as she spoke with haste, then gave a nod as she finished. Her gaze turned to the stars, and with hers, so did his. They stared for a moment in silence. They really did look beautiful. They always did. The moon did too. Is the Manny vain? Will thought to himself, chuckling for a moment until he turned his attention back towards Night Light with a warm smile. 

He smiles up at her, beginning to pace around, his legs swinging lazily and slow.

Her eyes lit up a bit as she grinned more now, "heh well we are different! i'm not much of a guide...you keep them safe...I keep them safe...in a different way. More or less I just help make them feel safe." she explained after a moment of thought.

“I can’t name a guardian who doesn’t know who you are…” She retorted with a bit of a frown, sometimes a reputation wasn’t the best thing to have, especially for what he had done. She shook it off, him knowing her name couldn’t possibly hurt…so why not.

So she was a Guardian. Pitch kept his face carefully neutral at the knowledge that she was one of those. Unsurprisingly, it took not a small measure of control. He reasoned to himself that his sudden antipathy for her was understandable - the group actively antagonized his existence. So what if he were a bit bitter?

She faltered a moment before regaining her composure with a steady inhale of air. "No." She said rather shortly, her eyes darting to the side. "I did...He hasn't told me much...The stars talk to me more then he ever has...but I gave myself that name...it's what I do...I bring scared children light when they need it..." She said rather stiffly, wondering why it captured his attention so.

Nightlight blinked a few times with a puzzled expression as she scuffed her nose in thought as she crisscrossed her legs in the air. She had a puzzled look on her face, why had she never been told of all this gossip…she wasn’t the biggest socialite but  she did have a few friends…

He laughs softly. The stars? This girl needed some actual friends. 

He couldn’t help but laugh at her curiosity. She was like a small child, just discovering things about the world that she would have never believed in her past life. He slides off the top of his lamp post, and swings it up on his shoulder, looking up at the girl loftily floating in the air.

Nightlight blinked a few times with a puzzled expression as she scuffed her nose in thought as she crisscrossed her legs in the air. She had a puzzled look on her face, why had she never been told of all this gossip...she wasn't the biggest socialite but  she did have a few friends...

He thought for a moment, propping his chin onto his fist and looking up towards the sky. He finished his thought with a small chuckle looking over at the girl with his bright white eyes. 

He gives a sigh, standing back up straight. He taps his lamp post on the ground twice, and it sticks up straight, stiff as a board. With a graceful back flip, he lands at the flat top, sitting crossed legged on it.

Will raises an eyebrow as the girl dances around in the air, getting really excited over such a small idea. But it makes him smile, she had such a youthful and alive spirit, and he loved to see that and guardians and people alike. 

He frowns, and rolls his eyes as she slowly floats back into the air again. Little brat… he thought quickly, but shook his head, and put back on his lazy smile, leaning forward on his lamp, looking up at her. 

Night Lights lips pursed as she frowned from his statement, suddenly feeling a bit agitated as she tried to cover any sense of fear flowing from her. She inhaled for a moment, the breath deep and slow before she finally opened her mouth to speak.

He saw her efforts to control her nervousness, and felt the spike of apprehension she’d been exuding slowly decline. Smart girl, he thought, wryly.

"I can't name a guardian who doesn't know who you are..." She retorted with a bit of a frown, sometimes a reputation wasn't the best thing to have, especially for what he had done. She shook it off, him knowing her name couldn't possibly hurt...so why not.

“Huh…I’m…You already know who I am…” She mumbled  glancing down to his hand and she shook it a moment, “So what is it you do exactly? How do you know so much about the guardians…?” she asked slowly, looking curious. 

“Yep, that’s right. I’m a guardian. Sorry to burst your bubble, sweets.” he said, leaning forward on his lamp. He raised en eyebrow, actually remembering who she was, and what guardian she was as well. He speaks with a warm yet lazy smile.

Once Upon a Fire

Will-O-Wisp walked through the dense forest quietly alone, his light dangling in front of his face to guide his path. It was actually quite a boring night than usual, he hadn’t heard any cries for help for a few hours, which was odd none the less. His ear twitched as he felt a strange presence near him. His lamp wung around as he turned quickly, shining it in the little guardians face. He smiled, and reared it back, leaning against it a little. 

He chuckles heartily, looking up at the strange girl.
