' ☾ — INNOCENCE LOST.

‘ you know what ? i think i’m just gonna make myself a handwritten one & deliver it to myself. '

‘ of course i know you! i’m just saying, whenever we have these things, it’s always a horror movie. don’t you want to spice it up a bit? maybe an action movie? ’ the boy grabbed a messy handful of chips from the porcelain bowl, gleefully stuffing it in his mouth. leaning against the couch, he pulled the bowl on his lap, smiling over at the girl. dylan couldn’t remember a time where he didn’t adore her, a time where he didn’t think that she was perfect. he loved how her dark hair always cascaded down around her features, framing her heart shaped face, how her orbs always lit up when she laughed, how she smiled so brightly. he wasn’t in love with her, but he was pretty damn close to it. ‘ it is not! you know i always say those things to scare you! and if i’m lucky, they actually work! ’ he rolled his eyes fondly, reaching out for her hand to pull her closer by his side. ‘ c’mon, babe, cuddle time. you’re the one always teasing that i need to be held, are you actually gonna do it? ’ in all honesty, while he couldn’t deny that he was a tiny bit scared with every horror movie, he really just wanted to be close to her. her presence was a warmth in itself, but being able to hold her was the best feeling in the world.

‘ does the titanic count as an action movie ? because i think it could. i mean, when it gets to the part where the ship goes down anyway. ’ she bit down on her bottom lip to help suppress a giggle, clearly trying to wind the young man up considering the amount of times she had made him watch that movie with her. it made her smile that he had honestly put up with her clearly repetitive movie choices, and despite not ever saying it as much as she should, she was absolutely so grateful to have dylan in her life. he was her bestfriend, but he was also so much more than that too. she could talk to him openly about anything knowing he would never judge ---- he had seen her at her best, but also at her worst; especially when it came to the times she had been left a sobbing mess in his arms after getting her heart broken numerous times. he was somebody she could always rely on, and the two had been as thick as thieves since the day they had met, so that’s what made everything all the more confusing for the artist as she flinched away from his hand that had reached out to take hers. there was a brief flicker of horror that had taken over her doe irises and oh, how she wished the simplest of things didn’t remind her of them, how she wished she could simply forget. but it wasn’t that easy; and the memories of what they had done to her will be scarred into her mind for the rest of her life. ‘ the movie hasn’t even started & you’re already demanding me to hold you ? i didn’t think the opening credits were that terrifying, but okay. ’ she quickly remarked, hoping he hadn’t noticed her previous change in demeanor as she flashed him her pearly whites before she nestled herself into the man, head now resting on his chest as she cuddled in close. though it didn’t stop the petite girl from shaking from being put on edge so easily.

dylan lifted his head to look at his options, raising his eyebrows in thought. ‘ why do you only have horror movies? ’ he asked curiously, sitting up from his position on the floor. it’d been awhile since they last saw each other, which is why he was ecstatic when he received her invitation for a slumber party. aside from his teen wolf cast members, the boy considered ariana as his best friend. they went on crazy adventures, gossiped about everyone else, and cuddled when they watched a movie - if that didn’t say best friend, he didn’t know what else did. but after a few of these happenings, dylan came to realize that their friendship meant a lot more, but he was absolutely sure she didn’t reciprocate that idea. which is why he was definitely not going to act on it. she meant a lot to him just as a best friend, it would hurt more if he lost that because he revealed his feelings towards her. ‘ oh shush. if anyone needs to be held, it’s you, don’t deny it, ’ the brunette laughed loudly, shaking his head. ‘ but, my pick is sinister. i heard the remake was crap, and if we’re going to watch a horror movie, it better be mediocre at least. ’ 

‘ i can’t believe you just asked me that. do you even know me at all ? besides, horror movies are easily entertaining, especially if the movie turns out to be really terrible & not even remotely scary, then we can just laugh at how predictable it is. ’ she stated, glancing back at her movie collection a moment as her angelic laugh filled the room. ‘ & it was either a horror movie or some chick flick, i thought you’d appreciate this more. ’ she turned to look back at him, her doe eyes meeting his warm mudbrown orbs, her soft signature smile already gracing its way upon her lips. the past couple of days had been hectic, to say the least, and just being around dylan was enough to lift her spirits up just a bit, though the deep sadness that currently consumed her was already starting to show in her significant brown irises. ‘ that’s only 'cause you always claim to hear noises in the apartment when it gets to the jump scares ! ' she gave him a gentle nudge as she laughed, thinking back to previous times when she had been convinced there was some spiritual being living in her house thanks to him. ‘ sinister it is. ’ she said with a nod, already setting up the movie for them to watch before joining dylan on the floor which was currently filled with piles of pillows and bowls of munchies for the two of them. she propped her legs up over his to get herself comfy, hitting play on the movie.

you know i’ve thought about that, but you made my point. plus it sounds like it’d be painful if it didn’t work for us, y’know?

‘ oh, it would be awful, & can you imagine the headlines ? selena gomez and ariana sent to A&E after running into brick wall in the early hours of the morning. illuminati confirmed. or, selena gomez and ariana grande’s drug frenzy causes them to attack a wall, now in hospital with a concussion --- possibly dead; because we all know how the media likes to take things completely out of concept. ’

i feel this on a personal level, honestly.

‘ i’m bitter. so bitter. also i’ve always wondered what it would be like to fly a broomstick but i think with my sense of direction i’d be flying into my own grave. ’

   “ but.. that sounds like a lot o’ effort ! maybe they can make a stand for themselves ? ”

  ‘ oh, c’mon, they need somebody to make the first step & i can’t do it all on my own. we need you, tomlinson. hogwarts is missing out on too many potential students right now. ’

“ That’s probably the saddest thing I’ve heard today. Why not sign up for Pottermore and get it electronically sent? ”

‘ i already have a pottermore account but--- wait, hold up--- WHAT ? you can get it electronically sent ? why am i only finding this out now ? oh my gosh. i didn’t even know that. i’m so doing that when i get home. ’

-That or they didn’t have the heart to tell you that you didn’t get accepted.

‘ ----- what you tryna’ say, j ? that i’m NOT hogwarts material ? ’

right? to be fair though, i reckon i’d get put in slytherin too. or maybe ravenclaw. i’m not honorable enough to be a gryffindor. and who wants to be in hufflepuff? i’m so glad hagrid didn’t die. that would have been too much for me. how cool would it be if he came in and said that?! 

‘ i actually got sorted into slytherin on pottermore & it’s not like we can complain being in the same house as draco malfoy, right ? hagrid dying would of literally--- crushed my soul to pieces. like freds death was already bad enough for me. it would be so cool, but you’d have to promise to invite me round if it happens. ’

They really need to step their mailing system up. Get some better owls or something, because I still haven’t gotten mine.

‘ we could always attempt getting into platform 9 3/4 but i’m not sure how well that would go down for the ones witnessing us casually running into a wall. ’
